When banks etc, write to me they often include a reply envelope. I recycle the letter and other bumf but stick a blank sticky label on the envelope ready for reuse.

Recycling is great. It really save save a huge amount of trees. We at http://ChurchOfferingEnvelopes.net use 100% recycled paper stock to produce our envelopes. Glad to so many others that care, as well.

This is really good information. at least 65 years ago I remember my parents using the backs of envelopes for bridge and scrabble scorecards so I grew up with that mindset. I sometimes re-use envelopes with pretty printed labels, sometimes store things in them, or use them for lists, and I have a whole drawer of scrap paper, and always re-use paper when I am printing something out, unless it calls for formality or privacy.

I also have one for using up left over chicken or turikey:

another great lens...5*... I'm a recycle freak and have been even before it was popular, maybe because of coming out of a war and having nothing, I hate waste! I use a great deal of recylce items for my art, either to paint on or make something.

Awesome idea! I'll probably start doing this. Currently, I re-use envelopes to write shopping lists, to write down ideas or information (address to where I'm going, name of a band I hear on the radio, etc.), to keep score when playing Scrabble, and to leave love notes or informational notes for my partner.

I try to recycle or reuse anything that can be used or recycled. I also love making handicraft out of unused things at home. there's just so much you can do with just a little creativity.

I always use old envelopes for shopping lists. Sometimes I reuse old till receipts for shopping lists too if there is nothing printed on the back.

we're doing a research on environmental awareness and pro-environmental behaviors among adolescents

right now, we're using our old bond paper from our previous paper works, and writing our drafts on the back pages...(an undergraduate psychological approach thesis)

we feel that we are earth warriors... ;p

if you have some environmental psychology related studies that you can share, we would be very thankful to have those...

you may send them to www.hyperatari@yahoo.com

    Thank you!!!

I have been using an old envelope as a bookmark for the last 9 months - I think it has just about worn out now. Maybe time to compost?

I'm always leaving my bills lying around, so the envelopes usually get used as shopping lists. It's so much better to reuse before you recycle! Thanks for the great lens! *****

more thoughts on recycling paper items to use as pet bedding....
First off- this is a GREAT way for your PETS to GO GREEN!
I volunteer at my local animal shelter and they use shredded paper as temporary bedding for puppies and kittens that are quarantined. Volunteers bring in large bags of paper shreds from their homes and offices- REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE!
