My New Friend: 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

There is so much focus on being more environmentally friendly, I have finally found a way to get in the game even in my boring eveyday life!  For those of you out there like me, you know you need to get off the wasteful but oh-so comfortable SUV kick - but dread following through with it. I commute over 110 freeway miles a day currently with a GMC Yukon that gets 20 mpg! It makes no sense, my daily commute does not include hauling the kids, dogs, bikes, or even other commuters.

So off to the Internet I went looking for the best "green" car for me. I looked at all my options comparing Honda's to Toyota's to Ford's hybrid version. I compared fuel economy, total cost of ownership, interior legroom, safety ratings, expert reviews, etc. I ended up buying the 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid a month ago and have been completely satisfied. To my surprise, I even enjoyed the buying experience. I found a relatively unknown site www.AutoUsa.com that helped me get the information I needed on hybrids overall as well as hooked me up with a local dealer that was hugely helpful in getting the right green hybrid car for me! Enough about the buying process and back to the car! September 2006
The quality of the car is terrific! The paint job is awesome, the interior finish is top notch, and the seats are surprisingly comfortable. The greatest thing about this car though is the gas mileage. On a good day with no traffic, I can get as much as 53.5 mpg! Don't be fooled though, if you drive in a hilly terrain or have lots of stop and go traffic you will not get the mileage advertised on the window sticker. However, if you don't have these issues this car will surprise you-- in a good way ;-)
