Enya

Ranked #5,947 in Music, #163,947 overall | Donates to Room to Read

A truly unique musician and singer.

Enya is one of the most mysterious women of the music world. The way she protects her privacy and stays apart from the 'rich and famous' scene makes her a truly unique artist. Her music draws its origins in celtic traditions; and whether it is crafted with modern tools or rendered in a splendid piano instrumental, every note touches the very fiber of your soul. Her participation for the Lord of the Ring soundtrack (you'll find the video on this lens if you scroll down) may have helped to have her music reach a wider audience. So much the better!
2008: Enya releases a new album!
2009: A new best of Enya is released, including a DVD!
2011: Rumor has it that Enya and Roma are back in their studio, working on the next album!!

And if you like celtic music, don't forget to check out Enya's musical family links at the bottom of the page, as well as my Loreena McKennitt lens!

2009 release: "The Very Best of Enya", CD/DVD.

Titles from all the Warner albums with favourite songs chosen by Enya, Nicky and Roma were included.
A special edition contains DVD with music videos documentary footage.

What's to be excited about: DVD!!! I have the Enya video collection on VHS and can no longer watch it. Hurray for some Enya on DVD!!

Thank you for this lens. I enjoy Enya - but know people who cringe at her sound. So amazing what pulls us one way or another in music.

That haunting tremolo as her voice is echoed is a signature of the Great Contribution this Irish singer has given to the World. Great lens and I liked your presentation.

Enya's musical family

Clannad's official website.
"The unique voice of modern Irish music." Clannad is formed of many members of the Brennan family. A somewhat new website, includes biography of the band, a gallery of photos, a forum and a shop.
The Clannad Newsblog
Pretty cool blog site, with news, and backgrounds on Clannad and Moya Brennan (see below), links and concert dates of the band.
Moya (Maire) Brennan's official website.
"The first lady of celtic music." Best known as lead singer of Clannad, she has released six solo albums since 1992. The latest is an Irish Christmas album. Lots of other links.
Bridin Brennan's official website
Bridin is the youngest child in Enya's family, the Brennan. She also is a solo artist, though she works with other family members on other projects as well. Her music isn't quite as celtic though.
