Ireland's best-selling solo artist got her start in the family business
Enya was born Eithne Patricia Ni Bhraonain, part of the very musical Brennan family of Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore), County Donegal, Ireland. Several of her relatives formed the well-known Irish band Clannad, and Enya performed on the albums Cran Ull and Fuaim. She left the group when producer and manager Nicky Ryan left in 1982, shortly before Clannad became known for "Theme from Harry's Game." She started her own recording studio.
Note: In late March 2009 a visitor to this lens let me know he wasn't able to view any of the videos I'd originally posted. I checked, and every one had been removed from YouTube due to copyright issues. Five of the videos below are from the official EnyaTV channel. The rest are from the EnyaFanClub channel. While I expect the first five videos to last, I don't know about the rest. Please contact your friendly neighborhood lensmaster, MobyD, if you have problems viewing any of the videos.
