The American Adventure

This indoor show tells the inspiring story of the United States and its people. Live actors? No, the story is told by two advanced audio-animatronic characters, Ben Franklin and Mark Twain. The music, archive photographs, film and unique staging never fail to inspire me! 30 minutes, indoor seated theater.

(There are a couple of quotes that are used out of context, IMHO, but it doesn't detrack from the overall performance.)

Check the Times Guide or the sign in front of the theater for performance times. Shows are scheduled about every 45 minutes. While waiting for the show in the lobby, you might hear the Voices of Liberty, visit the "Echoes of Africa" exhibit, or explore the many paintings and historic sayings on display.

American Gardens Theater

This covered amphitheater hosts many entertainment events. Most performances are part of special events held at Epcot.
Flower Power Concerts
The annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival focuses on horticulture, but for many guests the highlight is the nightly Flower Power Concert. Every night, a muscial blast from the past is featured in the American Gardens Theater.

Burger, Fries and Funnel Cakes

Hungry for an all-American meal? Stop at Liberty Inn, and grab a hamburger, hot dog or turkey sandwich. Other menu items: salads, applie pie and ice cream. Liberty Inn is counter-service with indoor and outdoor seating.

Another all-American favorite -- the funnel cake -- is served at a kiosk as you enter the USA Pavilion from the Japan Pavilion to the west. A funnel cake is fried cake covered with powdered sugar.

Other Attractions

While you're in the neighborhood, check out these other attractions at the USA Pavilion.
  • Voices of Liberty: Eight-part a capella chorus dressed in colonial costumes and singing patriotic and folk songs. They usually perform in the rotunda of The American Adventure. Take a seat on the floor for the best acoustics.
  • Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps: Performing outdoors in front of The American Adventure, the drummers and fife players (that's flutes for us non-musicians) perform rousing patriotic songs. Short performances, but worth stopping to listen.
  • Echoes of Africa: This unique exhibit in the explores the connection between historical African art objects and their influence and significance as interpreted by contemporary African-American artists. Two dozen pieces from the Walt Disney-Tishman African Art Collection are displayed alongside the works of approximately one dozen contemporary artists. The Walt Disney-Tishman African Art Collection is considered one of the most significant and respected collections of African art in private hands.
  • Shop: Located to the right of the entrance to The American Adventure, this small shop has Americana collectibles, T-shirts and other clothing decorated with patriotic Disney designs, and a few handcrafted gifts.
  • Outdoor kiosks: During special events, look for vendors and special presentations in front of the shop. This is where you can find Santa during the Christmas season.
