A classic guitar loved by famous musicians -- and me!

The Epiphone Casino is a magnificent and versatile hollow-body guitar. I should know because I play one. I got a used Epiphone Casino for my last birthday, and I have been playing it almost every day. I have a "tobacco sunburst" Casino just like in this photo.

Famous guitarists who've used the Epiphone Casino

The Beatles really helped make the Epiphone Casino famous; Paul McCartney got one first, then John Lennon and George Harrison. All three used their Casinos regularly on stage and in the studio. The awesome Revolver album was the first featuring Lennon's Casino.

Other Casino users are/were Keith Richards and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Howlin' Wolf, Dave Davies of the Kinks, Dwight Yoakam, and U2's The Edge.

The John Lennon Epiphone Casino

A historic model inspired by John Lennon's 1965 Casino guitar.

This is just like the Casino that Lennon used in most Beatles recording sessions, including their famous 1969 rooftop concert ("Get Back," "Don't Let Me Down"...).

There are photos of Lennon playing a sunburst model and a sanded-off version that looks more like this "natural" one.
