The horse. After some 5.550 years in human service. Does it still play a role in humanity's collective conscience? How is it percieved, kept, used and appreciated today. How does equitation work; how does the horse understand the rider; what enables it to implement his will?
these questions, not as well definded at first as they are now, after years of dealing with them day-to-day, are not to be ignored. For me they represent a long standing quest, which has produced some interesting results. Findings which I hope to share here in this lens.
Meanwhile, reacting to the claims made in the DaVinci Code, I ask the question: Is man made by God, and the horse as well? Both not randomly, but specifically, beatifully and purposefully made for one another. To me the answer to this question is yes. I see it in my studies of equitation's physiology and I feel it when I ride the horse.

The Physiology of Riding
Each year, since 2001, I have done an annual report and somehow these reports tend to provide a basis for further research. Report 2004 (German text and illustrations) is available at www.st-ho.com. Report 2005, English text only, is in editing and will we available shortly.
- Report 2006
- Report 2006, in addition to journal entry's pertaining to riding, also features excerpts from 'The Elements of Equitation' and their relevance to day-to-day training and reports on participants. Enjoy and make sure you don't miss the latest.

How to find a text module
Thanks, lens master Heath, after so may e-mails I finally figured out, where to find a module to continue writing. Meanwhile, however, I have entered some of my blogger's blogs in this lens, so there is no longer a need to use this module for writing. I promised our guys in the Association to keep a jounal on how to work the web, so here is this little facet. To add a writng module to your lens at Squidoo's, hit the 'Add a Module' button, and in the A-Z category enter 'Write'. There, at the very end, you find this module. It doesn't make any sense to me (unless, of course I am missing a point) but it works. It even permits you to enter a photograph
First Contribution
Thanks for the recommendation, Kyle!
Here the in-depth 2001 presentation by J. Andrew McLaughlin, 'Equine Revolution', providing a great deal of information on the horse's role in OneHumanity. Thank you for this contribution.

Thanks again, Kyle!
More information, from a rider's point of view, by Melinda Maidens, 'Horses and History', also in French. Thanks, Melinda.
- Horses and History
- More facts and a link to the U.S. cavalry.
Here I need to add another piece of Internet history: I am unable, even after several attempts to open this page from my lens. No idea why? If the same happens to you, here the address:

A few hous later, I must admit it was me. Both addresses of these latest links mis-spelled!!! I guess I finally will have to learn....

Thank you, Kimberly!

A Bit of Anatomy
Thanks!
I am suggesting there is a correlation between the rider's dermatomes and the horse's peripheral nerves, which exit the equine spine in pairs. To catch on to the concept, please view the charts provided in this link. I have my doubts about the correctness of these chart in the area of the legs. Non-the-less, they'r the best I can do for now.
- Human Dermatomes
- And yes, there is an obvious correlation between the human vertebra's uprightness and a wo/man's power, health and well-being.
How to Teach Riding
Thanks, Craig Stevens!
Yes, that exactly is the point.
- The Art of Riding
- But not everyone wants to be an equestrian artist. Some just want to ride, passing from here to there.
There are Those Days
There are those days!
There are those days, when I think I will not stick it out much longer on this planet earth. And on those days, one of them is today, I look at literature, which to me is the most beautiful I know.
"To you, O Lord, I lift ip my soul; in you I trust."
"Show me your ways, teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and instruct me,
for you are God my Savior,
my hope is in you all day long".
This text is contributed to a man named David, who lived some 3.000 years ago in what now is known as the Middle East. What inspired him?

Races
Thank you Ghost Moth!
When the English, faster speed in mind, began to breed the English through-bred, they had no idea of the speeds we know today and of a growing conflict of higher speeds and progressively more resticed spaces on planet earth. The result: modern horse racing!
- Horse Racing
- None-the-less, it is good to know what the industry is doing. And, by the way, why not check out how Allez-bleu and Agona, my husband's racehorses, are doing in the South of France.
Higher Speed in Horses
A thought.
Being an idealist from the bottom of my heart, I find it difficult to expose down-sides, such as the risk of accidents and physical damage in modern riding.
I have fallen from the horse literally hundreds of time. This was our tradition: if it does not feel good to stay up, make sure you get off safely...so much so, that I consider training in how to roll off a horse as part of a modern rider's professional training.
But, is this logical? How can the horse have played the role in the history of OneHumanity that it did, if falling off the horse is a given? Exactly this issue, along with answers to some other questions is the theme of my forth-coming book 'Elements of Equitation (2005)'.

Our First Brainstorm
This we needed to settle!
When people from around the globe assemble to research OneHumanity, there are a few questions that must be settled first. Please see our first go at them!

Spiraldynamik

- Unfortunately so far only in German. If you scroll down a bit you find Christian Larsen's 'Zwölf Grade der Freiheit'. He preassumes evolution, but what he says speaks in many ways to creation. In any rate, he has a point.
Pain-Free
What Particularly Struck Me!
Looking for rider's exercises I ran across a body of work published under the name 'Zilgrei'. I was not in pain at that time, and yet their breathing technique, which, when used properly, immediately frees from pain struck me as useful.
- Upright and Pain-Free
- Unfortunatly also only in German.
Not long after I began using this breathing technique I lost the fear of my own body and how it may react against my will. And this fear has not returned.
