RIP Ernie. You will always be the voice of the Tigers to me. I fondly remember listening to you at night with the radio. Many times I would fall asleep to your pleasant voice. I used to wonder how you knew where the people were from when I was a young kid. A lady from Lansing snagged the fly ball. You and Sparky will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for this lens of such a great gentleman and baseball announcer who will forever be a legend for Detroit Tiger fans.

God Bless Ernie! I grew up to his voice in Michigan listening to the Tigers. There is no better example of a class act than Ernie Harwell.

    Hi,
I grew up in Howell, Mi and I was blessed being able to heaar the two best sports announcers...Bob Ufer for the University of Meeechigan and Ernie Harwell of the Tigers. I listened to Ernie on WJR and I loved it. He was so discriptive; I am legally blind and hearing things were very important to me. I used to love it when Ernie would call out a towns name on a foul ball...I was so excited one day when a gentleman from Howell made a great catch on a Eddie Brinkman foul when they were playing the Royals. I got an Eddy Brinkman bat that same year at bat day...Thank you Ernie Harwell
