Music of Italy - Eros Ramazzotti

Eros Ramazzotti was born on October 28, 1963 in a quarter of Rome called Cinecitta. In 1984, he took part in the famous song contest of San Remo with his song "Terra promessa", talking about young people seeking a better future. Eros Ramazzotti won in the category of "New Voice" without even having an agent!

In 1986, Eros Ramazzotti released his first album that was titled "Cuori agitati". 4 years later, another album followed with the title "In Certi Momenti" and was his breakthrough for a global career.

During his career, Eros Ramazzotti has made several world tours and has won important music awards such as the "World Music Award". Especially popular are his famous duets with Andrea Bocelli("Musica E"), Tina Turner("Cose Della Vita"), Cher("Piu che Poi") and Anastacia("I Belong to You").

In 1998, Eros Ramazzotti married Michelle Hunziker, a swiss model and TV host and very popular in Italy, Switzerland and Germany. The couple gave birth to a daughter and named her "Aurora" (which means: "dawn"). Eros Ramazzotti has dedicated several songs of his to Aurora. Unfortunately, the couple seperated in 2002.
