- The Oinkster. Wonderful slow food. I would recommend the pastrami. Definitely try their ketchup, they make it from scratch.
- Dave's Chilin-n-Grillin. Classic sandwiches and wraps. This is what I love about Eagle Rock - it's unpretentious and personal, Dave is always there. They have great smoothies.
- Swork. Not so much a food place, but it's a great alternative to the *other* coffee house. They also have a place in the back for kids to play in.
- Larkin's. Larkin's is self-described as "A Contemporary Soul Food Joint." I'm still not sure what contemporary soul food means, but it's good. I had the fried chicken, a recommendation from my waitress, and it was very good. The staff was polite and it's located in a refurbished house, so it feels, well, homie.
- Classic Thai. A great Thai restaurant, it's tied with Panang, really (there's two more Thai restaurants in town, Thai Eagle Rox, great name, and Thai Spirit.) It's located in an old house, with a white picket fence on the outside.
- Casa Bianca. Widely regarded as the best place for pizza in the greater Los Angeles area. Their salads, not so great. They don't take reservations, so make sure to get there for an early dinner, or be prepared for a long wait. And it's cash only, but they have an ATM in the back.
- Panang. After hearing good things about Panang from my brother in law I decided to finally see what the fuss was about. I was a little sceptical once I set foot in the doors, but the food was good. Also serves sushi for some bizarre reason.
- Auntie Em's Kitchen. People drive from miles around for their red velvet cupcakes. It's also a great place for breakfast.
- Blue Hen. I wasn't too impressed with the food, but I'm still putting them on the list in the hopes that they were just having one of those days. The people there are very nice, and they support local farms! Many of their food, including the chicken, is organic.
- The Bucket. I went there the first day they changed ownership, and I'm hoping it's still as good. It's teeny tiny place, with a menu made up of hamburgers, but it's good. It's famous for the "Cardiac Arrest" which is a monster of a hamburger.
- Café Beaujolais/ Señor Fish. Very different food, but good nonetheless. I've also heard Brownstone Pizza is good.
Plenty of other options
