Love Christmas or hate it?.... Leave a note for Santa here:

From the lens Escape Christmas.

    Fun lens. While I do enjoy Christmas, it can all get to be too much sometimes. I couldn't believe they were already advertising Christmas decorations this year before it was even Halloween!

    Haha, great post. But this year I want to go one step further and leave the country (England) for the duration of the festive season. Any suggestions on the world's best anti-Christmas destinations?

    Any Muslim country would be ideal.

    My wife and I do this from time to time. Nice to see we're not alone! Many thanks indeed for the lensroll. Best regards, P. :)

    I like celebrating for any reason, but I completely relate to the sentiments of those who don't like Christmas and sleeping thru it sounds divine. ROFL, this is angel blessed today.
    Happy Sleeping. Happy New Year.

    Thanks Heather! As I write this, we are waiting for our youngest to drop off to sleep so that Santa can leave the presents. We are doing the whole usual massive Christmas celebration... but with hands raw from washing dishes and the prospect of the same tomorrow, I would truly love to crawl into bed and not get up until it is all over! Merry Christmas! xx

    Wonderful. I have been away for Christmas to the Costa del Sol last two years, going to Barcelona this year. Bit of an ewxpensive option but it gets me away from the razzamataz. Tried staying at home previouisly but pressure from relatives/friends beat me each time. And I get some sun.

    I love it...as long as we skip some of "Those" relatives houses.

    I love this lens! I used to enjoy Christmas - did all the decorating and the tree, music, food, etc., etc. Then the 'kids' grew up and live far away with the grandkids and have their own Christmas time and traditions (which is as it should be), so without kids around, Christmas, the Christmas 'spirit', in fact, the whole month of December could be easily erased from my calendar. I know - Bah, humbug! But I really don't even want to hear about it and can't wait until New Years Day every year now! It's so refreshing to read this and know there are others who could do without Christmas every year for whatever reason! Very enjoyable read.

    There is a very humourous novel by John Grisham called Skipping Christmas. It is about the Kranks who decide to skip Christmas one year. Would fit in well with your theme. Very well written lens. 5* and Blessed by a SquidAngel who love Christmas!

    Had fun reading this lens -- well written as always plus I loved the very funny commentary! Laughed at the sight of Audrey II & the entertainment suggestions are hilarious (Morrissey will indeed make me forget that it's Christmas!). I actually like the spirit behind Christmas, just not the way it's been commercialized to the hilt so a vacation to somewhere serene would be fantastic. (;

    Love it, love it, love it!! Right at this moment I think hibernation would be great. But then of course I'd miss out on all the family stuff. Maybe hibernation would be ok after the "silly season".

    Hibernating isn't just for Christmas is it? Loved reading this well written lens! Blessed.

    A wonderful idea. Christmas isn't fun for some people for any number reasons, and this guide to hibernating the season away is a nice alternative! I enjoyed your suggestions for how to go about it.
