Reliable Resources for Serious Students of the Bible!

Finding trustworthy resources for studying the Bible can be a challenge. Many materials on the Internet have strong political or doctrinal slants that may not line up with your own positions. Sometimes these positions can make it difficult to determine the real meaning of the text.

This lens is focused on identifying trustworthy online resources that you can use to enrich your study of the Bible. You will find maps of the Holy Lands, classic Christian writings, Bible study guides, background articles on people and culture of the Bible world, and much more. With these Essential Bible Study Tools at your disposal, you can decide for yourself what the Bible says!

Six Items Every Small Group Bible Study Must Contain:

Creating and maintaining a vibrant Bible study experience can be a challenge. Here are 6 essentials that no Bible study should be without.
  1. Prayer for illumination: We can understand a great deal on our own, but full understanding only comes with God's help and guidance.
  2. A primary Scriptural focus: No matter what the theme of the study might be, Scripture should be the central topic of Bible study.
  3. Engagement with other voices: Whether it be the views of theologians from other traditions, the words Church Fathers passed down through history, or even the perspectives of other religions, our knowledge of the Bible is deepened when we interact with other readers.
  4. Questions, questions, questions: Need we say more?
  5. At least one opportunity to engage the biblical text through an alternate medium: Film, literature, art, the daily news, etc. all offer ways for us to see and understand the Bible in a different light.
  6. A challenge to respond: Whether it be to dig deeper, put faith into action, make a life change, or prayerfully reflect, engagements with Scripture should leave us feeling like we need to do something.
