- We've got emergency food for the entire family, as well as water and other supplies. The biggest challenge with the food is keeping it at or under the optimal temperature. The higher the temp, the shorter the shelf life.

- We are so lucky as we do not live in an area that is vulnerable to natural disasters. However, one of my daughters is a Loss Adjuster and is constantly dealing with insurance claims from people who have been flooded, some for the second or third time. The stories she tells me emphasise the fact how unprepared people are, even when they have already suffered one disaster.
Looking forward to seeing how this series develops Susan.

- No, we aren't prepared. We have been at times in the past but got out of the habit of making sure it was done. Thanks for the great tips to make sure our Family is Prepared for an Emergency.

- We have a radio and flashlights that are hand-cranked. We don't generally get major disasters around here, but you never know what will happen.

- Nice lens on an important topic. The concern upper most in our minds here in the part of Canada that I live in would be loss of power in the winter...when it can be pretty cold.

- We do have a hand cranked radio that has come in handy when the power has gone out but I can see there are lots of other things I need to get.
