Estate Bath

Bathroom cabinets or (vanities) are the bases you place your sink in, on, or on top of. They have all the drawers and doors that you can place all your stuff in. They come in a bunch of different sizes from 18" for little bathroom to 60" or more for double sinks and big bathrooms. Estate vanities have all different finishes and sizes for whatever style of bathroom you have. One of the best things about Estate is they are sold at Lowes. I think you can find a Lowes just about everywhere in the U.S. these days. The price is very good for the quality of the product and they have matching items like mirrors, toilet toppers and medicine cabinets.

Before you are ready to purchase a vanity top make sure to brush up on all the correct terminology.

Backsplash - Can either be a set on or integrated piece on the vanity top. Helps protect the back wall surface of a bathroom from water splashes.

Cultured Marble - A mixture of resins and calcium carbonate (i.e. Limestone) casted into a mold. Additional pigments can be added to create a lustrous vein design or other materials such as aluminum tri-hidrate to create a translucent look. This material is known as cultured onyx.

Gel Coat - The top layer of all cultured marble tops that provides a durable and non-porous surface, which is very stain resistant and easy to maintain. Gel coats are available in solid or clear colors. Gel-Gloss is a recommended cleaning material.

Granite - Rock that is fabricated and polished.

Handcrafted Marble (also known as HCM) - Real stone tiles placed over a wood substrate. The wood substrate minimizes the weight of the overall product meanwhile the real stone tiles provide a true stone top.

Integrated Bowl - The sink basin is integrated with the top making it seamless and easy to clean.

Kona StoneTek - A mixture of Kona SST (solid surface technology) and various colored gel coats that create a webbing effect to closely emulate a real marble vein appearance.

Solid Surface Technology - Thin layer of poly chips mixed with resin sprayed over cultured marble. The objective of SST is to create a solid surface "look" (like Corian) by spraying a thin layer of material over cultured marble.

Vitreous China Bowl - Made from a ceramic material that has been glazed with enamel. The enamel has extremely low absorption rates, which makes it perfect for bathroom applications. Bacteria has little chance of growing on this type of material.
