- My thoughts about babaji... Am inspired by actor rajnikanth and that's how I came to know about sree mahavtar babaji. All I want is to know more about babaji. And about me am BIju Mohan DIvakaran living in Dubai. At the moment am in mess. Means I could not succeed in any thing. For example. My child baby boy named dev narayanan was born on 10june 2010. Today it's October 20 2011. Am not able to meet my baby. He is 16 months old and am not able to meet him due to my financial crisis. What ever chances I try to do business am unable to succeed. But I do have hope that I will succeed soon and then I can pay my bad debts and be able to go to India to meet my son. This hope has come after reading babaji. All I need is some inspiration words from babaji. My email id : biju.amana@gmail.com.
Thanks and KInd Regards,
BIju MOhan DIvakaran.

- Autobiography of a Yogi was one of my first spiritual books and I absorbed every word, even more the love that flows from it. This is a wonderful lens, especially your story of coming into awareness and appreciation of Babaji.

- Kate - Great lens - thank you! I discovered Yogananda back in the late seventies-early eighties and was taken by his story - it led me to find descendants (not blood-but by association) of his guru - and I worked with them. What a profound experience both learning and applying to my life. I think I will create a lens about this genealogy.

- Thank you, Jack, for visiting this lens. It prompted me to fix it up a little, spruce up the keywords, and make it stand out a little!
With all due respect, I know in my heart of hearts that Yogananda did not make up the Babaji stories. Stranger things have happened in and out and of this world!!
But again, I appreciate your visit, and feel free to visit again!!

- I have a different perspective: I have been practicing Kriya Yoga for well over 10 years, and have had many experiences which I would previously have called the "direct blessings" of Babaji. However: further spiritual insight has taught me that we can also create our own blessings by believing in things that do not actually exist. We then project the blessing onto whatever we originally chose to petition. I would like nothing more than for Babaji to be a real character - and perhaps he really is! But if one studies the controversy surrounding Yogananda - some of it out of the mouths of his own disciples - it is also a possibility that Yogananda made much of his story up. It is not my intention to ruffle feathers. But if you study this, you will find that India has had many overzealous Yogis who convinced themselves as well as their disciples of miraculous stories that weren't, in fact, true.

- I was not familiar with Babaji. At this point in my life, I am more open to spiritual encounters than I might have been when I was younger.

- I was going to say I don't practice any religion but that is not true, I "practice" many religions... I do remember to keep my mind on the spiritual, not the rules as much as possible. So I practice a lot, I just have not perfected any religions :) As such thank you for the enlightenment. 5 *'s and a fav!
