Etiquette Hell - The site for manners and etiquette

Ranked #1,940 in Internet, #114,308 overall | Donates to Big Cat Rescue

About Etiquette Hell

Etiquette hell was originally founded in 1995 as a site full of stories about etiquette faux pas, designed both to be funny and to help other people avoid the same errors.

It is run by "Ms Jeanne" a.k.a. ehelldame, and has grown to include forums, blogs, advice, books and more.

This is an unofficial page by a long time fan. All royalties go to Big Cat Rescue. Image by http://www.cooltext.com

About Ehell

The main E-hell site contains the stories submitted by users. These are in text format. Originally e-hell was updated twice yearly, but now the ehell blog allows you to get regular updates as stories come in. They are still archived and added to the main site regularly.

If you want to comment on the stories, the site has extensive forums. They have a strong user community, but also have strong moderation as you would expect from an etiquette board. Scrizty's coke rule is one to bear in mind when posting (and if its not set in stone, it probably should be).

Summarised it goes: "If you don't think you can be polite with your response, leave the PC and have a coke."

From the FAQS:

1. If a post annoys me, count to ten before replying.
2. If a post angers me, count to a hundred.
3. If a post infuriates me, shut down the computer and drink Coke.

There are also two linked blogs, the ehell blog for new stories and the wed-blog for avoiding etiquette problems at weddings.

The books and facebook pages I'll cover further down.

Etiquette hell on CafePress

Etiquette hell has a large collection of items on cafepress, some designed around etiquette principles, a few based on the more unusual characters mentioned on the forum.

As well as the selection below, the "No is a complete sentence" and "I dated a ninja" T-shirts definitely stand out!
