How to use the RSS Module for your Etsy Shop

What is a Shop Feed?
A shop feed, also known as RSS feed, XML feed, syndicated content, or web feed, is frequently updated content published by a website.It is usually used for news and blog websites, but can also be used for distributing other types of content, such as promoting our listings on Google Product Search (Google Base) or here on a Squidoo lens!

How to find the RSS module
When in your workshop (edit mode), look over to the top right side of your screen page and you will see the "Add Modules (Shortcut).
Click on the "green plus sign" beside "RSS: Add your blog", and you will see a "1" appear in the little box.
Once you do this, the greyed out "Add" button will turn orange.
Click on the "Add" button and the RSS module will be added to your lens page.

How to find the RSS Module (Module Picker)
Whenever you are on the Module Picker page, which you find through the "browse all modules" link in the "Add Modules (Shortcut) section.
Under the "Starter Package" Tab you will see "RSS: Add your blog".
Note: Picture below is old version and module used to be called "RSS: Add your own feed".
Click on the "Add" link beside the "RSS: Add your blog" for as many times as you want modules.
When finished, click on "Save"

Locate your Etsy Shop RSS Feed URL
You need to know the RSS URL from your Etsy Shop (it's right under the page tools on the right side of the page).
Just click on the "Subscribe to shop feed" link from your main Shop Home page. You can right click on the link and copy shortcut of the URL or click on the link and copy the URL from the address bar.

How to Complete the RSS Module
On your lens page, click the orange "Edit" button, this will open up the RSS module.
- Enter a Module Title (A few of my Etsy Shop Items). You can also complete the subtitle and description if you would like.
- Enter your Etsy (Shop feed) RSS URL
The RSS URL for our shop is http://www.etsy.com/rss_shop.php?user_id=5195554 - Enter a number for the number of listings you would like to show. I usually use 10 to 20.
- Change "exerpt" to "exerpt (100 characters), otherwise you just get a one line list. But it is your choice.
I leave the frequency at 1 day. - Change the HTML Display from "No" to "Yes"
