Eureka Copper Canyon 1512 Twelve-Person Tent

Campers have plenty of good things to say about the Eureka Copper Canyon family cabin tent. First of all, it's huge! It can sleep 12 people. The vertical walls mean the entire floor space is usable, and the height of 7' 4" is the highest you can find.

Users report that rain just can't get into the Copper Canyon. Eureka's bathtub floor keeps water out from the bottom, and the rain fly keeps it out from the top. But even in a rainstorm, this tent offers excellent ventilation. The entire roof is mesh, and the fly protects the windows enough to keep rain out when you have them opened from the top.

Reviewers recommend buying heavier tent stakes for this Eureka tent -- 15, if you are using the awning. They suggest a tarp for under the tent to help protect your investment and prolong the life of the floor. Many campers like to use all the guy-out points to stabilize the tent, but if there are some you don't use, the fly has pockets to store the unused guy-outs.

Great features of the Copper Canyon family tent are a removable divider curtain that lets you create two separate rooms, and a door for each of those rooms. One problem of many tents is that you have to put on the rain fly in case of foul weather -- then you can't see the stars. Eureka has solved that problem with clear-panel skylights in the fly, so you can see the stars and be protected from the rain.

Eureka Titan Luxury Family Camping Tent

Large tent to sleep 8

Eureka Titan Luxury Family TentConsumer Reports ranked the Eureka Titan Luxury tent "Excellent" for set up and rain resistance, and reviews from users in the field echo the rating. The aluminum poles are shock-corded, so it's impossible to put them together wrong. The key to setting up the tent is organization: have the poles ready and take it a step at a time. Working with one pole at a time, attach the pole to the color-coded hub at the top of the tent and then to the pin at the bottom. When all four poles are in place, and the tent is up, attach the tent to the poles with the plastic clips.

Speaking of organization, this is the only tent I know of with a closet! It also has rings for hangers, rings to attach a clothesline, and mesh storage pockets. A removable divider allows you to make two rooms, each of which has its own door.

The Titan Luxury 8 person camping tent sports Eureka's standard bathtub floor to keep water out and lots of mesh to let air in. Vertical walls and a center height of 7 feet give you lots of headroom and room to move around.

Eureka Tetragon 1610 Tent

3-room family dome tent

Eureka Tetragon 1610 TentUsers of the 9-person Eureka Tetragon 1610 agree that set-up is very easy for such a big tent. With two main poles and two secondary poles, you just have to be sure you grab the right pole. And it's simple to tell the difference: the main poles are heftier.

The main poles support the main part of the dome tent, with a center height of 6' 4." The secondary poles form the framework of the lower parts on each end. Those ends can be turned into separate rooms with divider curtains, resulting in three rooms, each with its own door.

Two nice little features are a mud mat to help keep the inside of the tent clean and gear storage pockets that you can move around to any wall you like. Ventilation in the Tetragon 1610 family camper is great, with a mesh roof and four vents. It has a bathtub floor all around, and the tent has proven extremely waterproof. As with all tents, though, you'll still want to seal the seams before you use it.

Eureka Equinox 6 Luxury Tent

Big tent sleeps six

Eureka Equinox 6 Luxury TentLess mesh in this tent means you'll stay warmer early or late in the camping season. But there's still ventilation with three windows, a roof vent, and breathable nylon roof fabric. The Eureka Equinox family tent offers plenty of room for six people, and a center height of 6' 7", all in an exceptionally light package of 17 pounds.

The hexagonal shape of the Equinox tent makes it sturdy and resistant to the wind. It withstands wind and rain storms with flying colors. Make use of all the guy-out points to make sure there is no undue stress on any one point, and this tent will keep you safe and dry.

Two people can set-up this Eureka free-standing tent in about ten minutes. The aluminum poles are shock-corded and pre-shaped, and they attach to the tent base with pin and ring connectors. The tent body hooks to the poles with clips -- a quick way to get the job done.

Eureka Sunrise 11 Large Camping Tent

6 person family dome tent

Eureka Sunrise 11 Family TentOne problem with using some large tents in a campground is trying to fit them in the designated space. The Eureka Sunrise 11 dome tent is just the right size to fit perfectly on campground tent pads, which are commonly 12 feet square.

Owners of this tent say its logical set-up is a breeze. It has just two shock-corded fiberglass poles run through pole sleeves at the very top to maintain the dome shape and then clips farther down to attach the tent body to the poles. And when it's time to pack up, they like that the storage bag is big enough to get the tent back in.

Like all Eureka tents, the Sunrise stands up to wind and rain, while allowing good ventilation through its four mesh windows and panels in the ceiling. The "High/Low" doors let you vent at the top or at the bottom of the door for most advantageous air flow.

Some of the most appreciated features in a tent are those for organizing and storing your gear. The Eureka Sunrise has a gear loft and several organizing pockets, with water bottle pockets and a mirror. It's so nice to be able to keep track of all the little things in the tent.
