what are others saying?
D. HurtadoI wasn't familiar with the brand, but this is one quality machine. It is well-built and solid and very easy to use and learn, even if you have never used a sewing machine before. The built in storage area under the floor is perfect for my needs, only using it for small projects. The carrying case and compact size make it easy to manuever and handle. I have owned it for 2.5 years and have no complaints.
New Quilting Mom in UtahI've never owned a sewing machine before, but I love this machine. I am taking a quilting class and it has done everything I've wanted it to do! I love it and it is so smooth, easy to use and wonderful! I would recommend it to anyone!
Bill in Burbank:I wanted a machine that could handle thick upholstery fabric, and the Euro-Pro proved itself without me having to even use it! When I pulled the unit out of its box, I found that as part of the quality assurance process, a tester at Euro-Pro had sewed some fabric and had left it in the machine to prove that it worked OK. They had sewn various stitches through four layers of thin cotton shirt fabric. Then, they had sewn eight(!) layers of denim on top of the four layers of shirt fabric. Easily a quarter-inch of fabric in total. I was impressed before even plugging it in.
I just spent a couple of hours putting the machine through its paces, and it's solid, smooth, and quiet. No adjustments necessary so far. It comes with a whole bunch of different feet for doing zippers, buttons, quilting, piping, etc. I'm particularly impressed with the base plate under the foot: it has finely-machined ruler marks for hems, not cheap stamped metal. The fabric feed tracks nice and straight in both forward and reverse.
Minor complaint is the instruction guide. You know that any instruction guide written in 3 languages can't be all that great. If you're new to sewing like me, you'll want to get one of the many good sewing books out there to walk you through the basics.
I'm not a pro tailor, but bottom line, I'd confidently recommend the Euro-Pro to anyone who asks.
