Self Knowledge and Personal Understanding

Species or society, business or individual, the same principal stands true; you must evolve if you want to continue to exist. Change in a comfortable and familiar routine can be very difficult, and considerably more so when those changes are in a person's inner self. The drive to learn, to evolve, and to grow, is a quality observed in most successful businesses and people.

Forward

There are numerous facets to the process of growth and learning. Two things, which can be very constructive tools in this endeavor, are evaluation and adaptation. The abilities to identify and change can be a great influence on the manner in which we strive for a destination.

Evaluation

A good, long and honest look in the mirror can seem like a trial by fire. Everyone guards issues and emotions within themselves. These hold us back from achieving success. In identifying the issues that block growth, we can begin to take steps at correcting them.

Despite its obvious advantages, our ability to be self-reflective comes at a high price. Few people realize how profoundly their lives are affected by self-reflection or how frequently inner chatter interferes with their success, pollutes their relationships with others, and undermines their happiness. By allowing people to ruminate about the past or imagine what might happen in the future, self-reflection conjures up a great deal of personal suffering in the form of depression, anxiety, anger, jealousy, and other negative emotions.
