Evening eye makeup tips for a smokey look
Smokey evening eye makeup tips from eHow.com:Things You'll Need:
* Concealer
* Foundation
* Eye Pencils
* Mascara
* Tissue Paper
Step 1:
Begin by applying concealer under your eyes as well as over your eyelids. You can use a makeup sponge for application (I prefer my fingertips). The concealer will cover any tiny veins you may and will also help your makeup to adhere better.
Step 2:
Apply foundation under your eyes (over the concealer). This will ensure better coverage (and no visible dark circles/veins either). In addition to better coverage, the foundation will also create a better match to your skin tone than just your concealer alone.
Step 3:
Using your eye pencil choice of color (I prefer charcoal/grey), line your upper eyes, shading lightly rather than pressing hard to create a bold line. Remember, similar to cooking with spices, you can always add more - but cannot always take away! Draw upwards slightly when you come to the outer edge of your upper eyes. Think of a cat - think catwoman! Again, do so very lightly... as you can add more pencil, as needed. With a Q-tip or makeup applicator, or fingertip, slighly smudge your eyeliner, keeping directly above where you drew... you DO NOT want to make the line bigger - or stretch it to other places. You simply want to blend it by lightly smudging along the area. Again, not sure if you are on track or off track? Imagine cat woman... and play around until you get just the right angles your eyes are looking for. Every face is different - you will be able to tell what works and what doesn't. Work lightly - and repeat as needed.
Step 4:
Lightly draw under eye area... work lightly. Repeat if needed. Go as heavy or light as you crave. Smudge over area - be careful not to extend to far. Remember, you are not looking for a black eye look. You want to appear sexy. Take your time with this step especially, as it can make or break the look more than the upper eyes, in my opinion.
Step 5:
Add your mascara. First upper than lower lashes. I recommend a thickening mascara. Go waterproof if you think you will be in extreme humidity or may encounter moisture. I like to use Black. Brown Black or Grey Black can work just fine as well. Sweep upper lashes towards the outer edges of your eye, creating a cat eye look. It will make your eyes look sexier - and will give you more of an almond eye shape look.
