Events and happenings - an examination of the signs of the times by Senior Squids

Events, happenings, festivals, fiestas, occasions, and remembrances -- all types of events -- are showcased on this page which is comprised of the creative efforts of Senior Squid lensmasters here on Squidoo.

Example: The man in the tube to the left is accepting his camera, getting ready to go deep underwater to enjoy a little oceanic photography. Is this the kind of event you would enjoy? Personally I'd get a wee bit claustrophobic in the tube, but I know many others would think it was grand.

Each event showcased on this page is meaningful to somebody somewhere, and could be meaningful to you too. Onward, now, to the first eventful production on the page...

Strawberry Fields Festival

The first eventful production showcased here will remind you of the Beatles but will sound like Procol Harum and over a dozen other rock groups and performers. After the USA's Woodstock, Canadians put together a rock festival of their own. Strawberry Fields forever!

Highland Games

Our next eventful production takes us to North Carolina where America's Scottish people have rediscovered their roots and culture. They put on a good show with games, music, and dance -- enough to satisfy any Scotsman's need for bagpipes, caber tossing, and kilts.

Thanksgiving in Louisiana

Our next eventful production is a traditional holiday, Louisiana style, starting with wild turkeys strutting through the forest. This event lens includes everything you need to know about Thanksgiving, and even includes holiday activities for the kids!

A Walk in the Woods

And now for something simple, quiet, and solitary - a walk in the woods. This is what forest people do for fun. Is it a genuine eventful production? Well, look at the pictures and decide for yourself.

Your comments are welcome...

...any event comments?

Every day I come to this site to see if I've got any new comments. It will please me greatly if you'll leave a note to let me know you were here.

Wildlife Conservancy

This lens donates to preservation of wildlife in Alaska.

National Wildlife Federation's Alaska Regional Center is committed to protecting Alaska's wildlife and wild places for our children and grandchildren. We work in partnership with concerned citizens, grassroots groups, and communities.

We at Squidoo passionately believe in creating new ways to support good causes online. By making a donation to National Wildlife Federation's Alaska Regional Center from this page, you are sending money directly to that organization, in whatever amount you want. We don't touch it. We don't even see it. The author of this page doesn't either. And if you made it this far, thanks for caring.
