Everton FC

Everton FC - by fans called the Toffees - is a professional football club, playing in the English Premier League. Everton FC has spent more time than any other club in the top flight of English football, and is historically one of the top 5 most successful clubs in the league.

Everton FC has won the English league title 9 times, most recently in 1987, and the FA Cup 5 times. In European football they've won the UEFA Cupwinners Cup (now the UEFA Cup) once in 1985.

The clubs home ground since 1892, when they left Anfield over a rift with Liverpool FC, is Goodison Park. The stadium is one of the most historic football grounds in the world - and has a capacity of 40,000 all-seated.

Everton FC has announced their plans to move away from Goodison Park, and in the summer of 2007 plans of a new built stadium has been presented to the public. This has caused some controversy, however, because it means a move away from the city center of Liverpool.

The club is owned by Bill Kenwright, a successful theatrical producer, and lifelong Everton FC fan. He took over the club in 1999, and is the club chairman.

Everton FC is managed by David Moyes, who is rated as one of the best young managers in English football. He has won the LMA Manager of the Year award twice in 2003 and 2005, and is known as an excellent teambuilder and motivator.

Team Captain is Phil Neville, a versatile player who can play in defence as well as in midfield. At Everton FC he is used in a defensive midfield role.
