Aide-Memoire, Memory Bank, Pot-Pourri, Note book and Scrapbook

The Internet is such an amazing learning tool but it's often frustrating when you FORGET WHERE you saw something and try as you might you can't Google your way back. So this Lens is going to be my notepad/aide-memoire-memory bank/extended brain in other words a bit of a memory junk heap, but whatever it's going to be better than those post-it notes and other scraps of paper I use.

So this should be my most most fun, bizarre lens a cornucopia of serendipity and at the same time be highly googlable.

  • Anchor Text (text highlighted by a hyperlink) should be keyword rich and hot say "click here"

  • Image names should be keyword rich not dog.jpg but healthy-dog-latest-cures.jpg

  • Whenever possible include an image in a squidoo text section (properly named)

  • Being on the First Page of Google for a Long Tail Keyword Phrase doesn't automatically mean traffic if no one is looking for it

  • Squidoo Importance of First Paragraph: the first paragraph is what is displayed
  • in the Squidoo Searches and presumably Google so it's important that it is precise and punchy. (if you look you'll find many aren't)

  • Firefox's Spell checker is an Optional Plug-in! When writing your blog or squidoo lens right-mouse click and select "add dictionaries". Thereafter misspelt words will be underlined

  • Primary tag not related , you need to have your primary tag a couple of times at least in your lens and to take into account LSI factors
  • More secondary tags , you need more tags that support the primary tag eg, cats, cat boxes, cat carriers, boxes, and a reasonable number of tags....
  • Tags are in different colors to indicate their popularity as tags on squidoo - red = few or no other lenses with that tag, shading through to pink as more lenses have those tags. Greens indicate more tags, the stronger the green the more the tags...

  • The tag health comment needs to be taken 'under advisement' as sometimes it can be a little off, it is also better to develop your tags as the lens ages and you see what people are looking for, as well as how your lens itself develops. The color, or tag popularity, is more relevant in the early stages. Red, or unique tags, are not good unless they are the primary tag and/or you have tested them out thoroughly in something like Market Samurai and found a key phrase that no one else has come across! Do remember that you must include your primary tag as an ordinary tag as well or it will not be used.
