All Things New Zealand

I love to write about New Zealand. It is now my home, as well as being home to nearly 4.3 million people and 40 million sheep. It is my adopted nation, and one of my favorite topics when I write.

If you haven't been here, or seen photos, you are in for a real treat. New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It is diverse and ever changing. Where else can you find surf beaches, calm waters, glaciers, geysers, rain forests, plains, mountains, ski fields and bubbling mud, all in one small country. There is also a plethora of unique and endangered wildlife from tuatara to kiwi birds, New Zealand has it all.

Here you will find some interesting facts and statistics about New Zealand as well as a complete listing of the Squidoo pages I have written about this amazing nation. So, sit back, relax and enjoy your virtual journey to everything New Zealand.

My Life In New Zealand

I thought I would start with a little introduction about myself, and my journey to get here. "New Zealand Why I Chose New Zealand to Live - My Story by Pukeko (Rhonda Albom) " is the extremely abridged story of my life and how I came to live in New Zealand.

My Favorite Places to Visit in New Zealand

New Zealand is a small country by comparison, ranked 82nd in land mass size of the 256 countries in the world listed by the CIA World Factbook. The terrain is mostly mountainous although there are some large coastal plains. The climate is temperate with extreme regional contrasts as evident by diverse landscape features including rainforests, glaciers, geysers, plains, snow capped mountains, rugged coastlines and forest. Here are a few of my favorite spots.

Unique Creatures of New Zealand

New Zealand has one of the highest animal to human ratios in the world, with over 95% critters and fewer than 5% human. Being an isolated country, New Zealand is filled with many creatures found no where else in the world.

Here are a few pages I have written about some of New Zealand's more interesting creatures.

Our Favourite New Zealand Sports and Adeventure Activities

We love Snow Sports in the Winter, Sailing in the Summer

Sports, adventure, and excitement are all part of Kiwi living. Our primary activities are snow sports in the winter and sailing in the summer. Both of our girls are now New Zealand Jr. National Champions for their respective sports, so I have included their pages here. Here is the ultimate New Zealand lens! I'm opening (to be published later today) Visit_New-Zealand to encourage myself to go as a bucket list item, but it will be in the beginning stages for a while, I'm afraid, so I am featuring this lens to inspire me while providing visitors this way to find much more information.
