Sad? Everything You Need Is Inside Your Basket.. "IF"

Inside Your Basket... Inside Your Heart.

There inside the basket.. is everything you ever needed.
There inside the basket is every song
every poem
every quote that inspires you.

There inside the basket .. is everything you ever needed.
There inside the basket is you as a whole person
one who travels far and wide within your own heart
to find...
all your dreams made real.

~*~~

Let me just start by telling you that I have NO SECRETS to share that will change you or me. As with ALL of my lenses I write them to myself first as I try to understand what will make "me" a better artist, poet, lover, wife, and a good person who I too can feel proud of. As I write anything at all i am speaking to myself first. I am reminding myself of what makes life more joyous or the struggle less difficult. I write to myself first to tell ME that being happy is not so far a journey.

I wrote a poem once about my basket being empty. It was how I felt and how I still feel...on occasion. It is ALL in your attitude, in our self image and what you do to take care of it.

There is a poem below that I wrote. I have posted it to share my pain and my travel through this life. I post it so that you can see more of who I am; my struggles and triumphs; my resolve; my journey as I try to find pieces of myself that at times feel missing. We are all pretty much the same in that journey but sometimes we leave our own selves emotionally and become numb to our own breathing and our own consequence. We struggle, or I admit to my struggle at times even if you don't. I am pretty sure you do though if you have read this far.

Time is a wasting... it really is. Time to feel our baskets and recognize what you need, what I need, to fill it with. Time to let the sun shine in. Time to recognize that sometimes we just feel lonely or misunderstood or like we are nothing more than a "Basket Case". Lets agree to change that!!

Light and Peace.

"Buried Roses"

This poem of mine does not speak of baskets but it does speak to the fact that sometimes we find them to be empty. By choice, by plan and quite often by neglect. Neglect can happen because we don't feel inspired or we have not taken time to care for things that make us whole or maybe we stopped loving ourselves. When we do not feel love for ourselves we cannot love anyone else as much as we would hope to. Grief, pebbles or even boulders along our pathway cause us to stumble. Oft times as we stumble we don't get up for a long time and sometimes, for some, not ever again.

"Buried Roses"

if i had roses to give you

i would have buried them

muted their breath

measured their penitence

stopped the flood of overflowing criticism

the rain continues

I thought it's shoulders were undaunted

horizontal landscapes catch the rhythm

hold gifts

good and bad

none the less given with due remarks of wanting shelter

in the presence of unadorned queens

was it you who never stopped noting thorns

of now quieted roses?

or me who allowed their travel?

LIFE TAKE ONE

No matter who you are, no matter your background, YOU CAN RISE ABOVE ANY PROBLEM

I know.. but sometimes it just overwhelms me and I feel like I cannot arise above the issues I deal with.

I so agree and although the road is hard, what else is there to do but rise above it all.

Ruthi says:

I do agree that I can rise above any problem! Otherwise, I would surely be an embittered basket case!

goo2eyes says:

the road is narrow and winding but one can reach the destination with perseverance.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

Bitterness and Betrayal Forgiven Beyond the Wounded Sky

We all feel bitterness on occasion or sometimes it never goes away, but somehow we need to let go and in that we will be whole again.

"Bitterness and Betrayal Forgiven Beyond the Wounded Sky"

Oh bitterness
what a torment
falling on dreams
blocking them out
so easily.
What a terrible sting
and pathetic song
that seems to penetrate everything
colors drowned
Pain that never seems to end
no matter
how far away
one travels
or what one does
to try to get through
those memorized heartaches.

Reasons to feel angry
always on ones mind
twists of fate
even hurricanes of unkindness
words
deeds
unleashed
never to be taken back?
Never to be forgotten?

Selfish maybe?
Embracing the idea of betrayal
magnifying its hurtful deeds
trampled flowers
unfaithful arms of love
forever dying.
Flaws pointed to
and put to question
that have no pure answers.
Rivers without water
in a true loves eye
blinded
and so sadly denied
within the bitter strokes
of condemnation.

Accounts kept
measuring worth
deciding which excuses
will be heard
and the ones to remember
forever
despite the bleeding
costs.

Coping with the surprise
that memories
when tainted
become painted
with whatever vengeance
the heart leans to.

Cruel quotes
or forgiveness
move forward
depending
on their prompted direction.
Choices
looking away
ready to settle arguments
or never overlooking those sins.

Charm bracelets of trinkets
building on what could have been
held together by disappointments
or letting them be golden
seems so simple
but no
not with bitterness
on ones shoulder.

Loneliness
for the one right next to you
breathing on their pillow
dark nights
set to words that feel empty.
Run or stay
there is no magic
when caution is the only
sound
around.
