Everything About Video Web Sites
As hostmaster of the video web site www.DirectVuTV.com I get a lot of questions about the site and video sharing and search portals in general. This lens will help you understand the trends in Web Video Sharing and how in just a few short years, it's going to totally change how you watch entertainment and truly challenge the big television networks. Welcome to our journey...

The Number 1 Question I Get - How Can I download Youtube Videos?
I want it on my Pod and I want it now!
Personally, I use a HTC Phone which runs Windows Mobile 6 (Yes, I know, it really is the only phone I've ever owned that I have to reboot 12 times a week by taking the battery out of it) - But Hey! it's one of the rights of being a member of the Windows Community!
So, how do we do this. Well, the first step is to find a cool video. You can do this at my site (shameless plug coming) www.DirectVuTV.Com or if you go to You Tube directly, you'll see at the top of your browser the address of the video in the title bar.
I happen to like a new video called Head in The Oven about a suicide hotline (all comedy is about death, didn't they teach you that in Arts?)
Anyways, the URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOEb8A16KfE and if you want to download it just head on over to TechCrunch by entering the URL
http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/
Just type in the Youtube URL (you did copy it didn't you) and presto chango in one second or so the download link appears. Click on it and a download box pops up and you can save the FLV file to your drive. (This file is 14.6 MB so you can fill your drive pretty quickly.)
Next Up -- How can I play the !*&86)2(3)$9*! .FLV file on my PC or Pod Device?
Bye For Now...

I was just thinking about downloading a youtube video the other week. But the instructions were way to complicated. This made it easy, and simple to do, and I was successful the first time I attempted it. Posted April 23, 2008 |
