Can anyone think of a way to collect RSVPs and make only the "Yes" responses public, but not the "No" ones? We'd like people to see who IS coming, to encourage them, but don't want them discouraged by the number of No's.
  • Saurabh May 27, 2012 @ 2:52 pm | delete
Yes, try EventEve.com (http://www.eventeve.com). In the Guest List, you'll find the options to show the Guest List ('All, 'Yes only', ...etc.)
  • Penny Apr 12, 2012 @ 5:35 pm | delete
Does anyone know an evite site that tracks options and responses? I'm organising a hen weekend in 3 stages that people can opt in to as many as they want to. Many thanks!

Anyone know of a free (or cheap) site that will allow multiple administrators? I want to be able to set up the party, but allow someone else to add guests as needed. Does such a creature exist outside of Facebook?
  • Shakes82 Apr 7, 2012 @ 8:36 am | delete
If you want really unique designs, you need to find a niche design site with a style you like. The big sites are just too generic.
One I love and have used multiple times:
    www.inviteted.com

Small range by comparison, but great designs.

I am currently planning my college graduation and will be sending out PAPER invites however I am looking for a site that offers RSVP service only. I tried using Evite.com and that was horrible and I also tried using eventbrite.com which wanted me to set up tickets and other things that were not necessary. I am just looking for some place to add all the people I want to come into a list and then they can come on the website and RSVP to my graduation. Does such a thing exist?
  • shauna7084 Apr 2, 2012 @ 10:37 am | delete
You can do that with Facebook. Also maybe http://www.eventeve.com/info/features#ew
  • vibhuti Apr 2, 2012 @ 11:02 am | delete
    Try the 100% free http://www.eventeve.com
Currently, they allow you to send invitations to upto 300 guests. If you send a request to increase the invitations limit to support@eventeve.com for your event, they will.
    Wish you a gr8 event!
  • Hollydays Mar 26, 2012 @ 2:50 pm | delete
Purple Trail is NOT FREE. I tested it and you need to pay to become a member and then you can send as many evites as you want at no extra cost.
  • shauna7084 Apr 2, 2012 @ 10:38 am | delete
Thanks for the note. I didn't know that it cost now.

Is there a site that allows me to use a jpg of an invitation I created myself? I just want to use a site to send out the invitations and track RSVPs
  • Ileana May 25, 2012 @ 9:59 pm | delete
I used the evite myway site to create and evite, but now I can't get back to make any changes or add new users...I think they are not supporting this function:(

I am having a Barbeque (we live in Hawaii, where it is possible all year round!). I tried ALL the sites listed here, and liked Cocodot the BEST. The designs are fun, and I like the amount of design leeway that they give the user. You can add text, change the color of the text, make it larger, smaller different, etc. GREAT SITE - thanks for the recommendation, I NEVER would have found it!!

Is there a site that allows you to simply send invites but NOT have an RSVP component? We have aa yearly open house with lots of folks incited and we do not want folks to rsvp or feel that they need to pre-plan.
  • shauna7084 Nov 27, 2011 @ 9:39 am | delete
The Facebook event ap allows you to invite people, and allow them to invite people (if you turn that feature on) but it doesn't require an RSVP. People can say yes, maybe, no or nothing at all.
  • Vibhuti Nov 27, 2011 @ 11:46 pm | delete
EventEve.com provides the option to create an Invitation webpage with / without the option to RSVP. For more customization requirements you can write to them at support@eventeve.com. They try their best to provide best of services...
  • Vibhuti Nov 27, 2011 @ 11:54 pm | delete
To be specific, when you are creating an Invitation in www.EventEve.com, you have to choose the Event Type as 'Public' and there you get the option 'User Response - Required / Not Required' which means display RSVP section / Do not display RSVP section. Hope it helps...

One huge flaw with Evite is that you cannot change your email address or add one once everthing is set up. This has been an ongoing problem for over two years and continues to be. Yet their support team quite dishonestly implies that it is just temporary and it will be fixed soon. My email address that I use with Evite is being shut down so I am now hooped. Either I re-enter everything including contacts if I want to continue using Evite or search out a new invitation website. Personally, I am not going to give Evite a second chance if they can't deal with this simple problem right now because I don't want to wind up in the same position again.

Thanks for the helpful consolidated listing! One question... do guests have to register to RSVP in socializr? It is marked "no" in the above matrix, but I cannot find a way for a guest to RSVP without registering and logging on to socializr. Has this perhaps changed since the listing was created? Thx.

Great to have this information; are there any sites besides EventEve.com that handles potluck? Also, with RSVPs that indluce the number attending? That is an important concept and I can't find the feature on Evite or Punchbowl.
  • BM Oct 18, 2011 @ 12:14 am | delete
A couple more to add to the list are cocodot and paperlesspost.

This is a a great resource for the event planning community. I didn't see www.anyvite.com listed. It's wonderful..Very easy to use with nicely organized event pages/features. I've hosted many successful events with the anyvite platform.

Is anyone else tired of template based invitations? Isn't there a simple one that lets me just simply add a photo without the ads and without being so slow!
  • Terin Sep 1, 2011 @ 11:38 pm | delete
I was looking for a site where I could link where we are registered and have a place for friends that can not attend to leave advice or best wishes to us. Do you know of any that complex?
  • AspenGranny Oct 31, 2011 @ 5:56 pm | delete
Evite allows comments for people who have RSVP'd; any of the guests can read them.
  • saurabh Aug 19, 2011 @ 5:45 am | delete
Another new website for sending and managing online invitations is http://www.EventEve.com Found it extremely good for sending & managing potluck parties. It is absolutely free and includes event details in emails. Guests don't need to register to RSVP, participate in Poll or choose an item to bring for potluck.

I'm confused about these "free" e-vites. Whenever I go to a site it appears there will be a cost for the invitation. I'm looking at glosite, pingg, mypunchbowl and evite. I'm not very good at technology. We're doing e-vites for a wedding that's taking place in 4 1/2 weeks so I need to get this done! Help? Suggestions?
  • shauna7084 Aug 4, 2011 @ 11:08 pm | delete
Great question. A lot of these services have free versions of their evites and paid versions that are ad free and have more features. Pingg has PinggPlus and Punchbowl has a Plus membership that also gives you ad free ecards. It all ends up boiling down to whether ads are a distraction to your event or not. If you think a vendor ad might take away from your event (like a wedding) you might do better to pay for a membership to one of these sites. Let me know if I can be of any more help.

If you are looking for a little more heavy-duty functionality (like for seminar or large meeting), you could also check out RegOnline. They include a ">http://www.regonline.com/__event-registration/free-event-website>free event website which is fully-customizable with HTML and Javascript

I am looking for an evite-like site that allows me to setup events/invites for other people so that *they* can manage them, but I do the legwork. Obviously, it would be silly to give someone *my* login so they can manage their own invite, etc.

The purpose is so that I can include an online evite-like link on the invitations I design for others.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Thanks!!

  • shauna7084 Apr 9, 2011 @ 12:15 pm | delete
Yes, many of the online invitation sites do that now (even Evites.com does in their custom invitation creator). Know for sure Enclude.com does too.

This is one of the only reviews of e-invite sites I could find on the Internet... Thanks for getting it started. The table could use some additional details and updates. For instance, Pingg's limit is 75 and is not ad free (unless you pay). Guests do not need to register on Pingg to RSVP and event details are in the email. Some sites are limited by geography as well. I am in Canada and Socializr does not work here as it validates the address when entered. Adding a column for International use would be helpful.

I'd like to find a system that is fairly easy to use, allows you to keep an address book, handles more than 1000 invites, allows sound embedding (voice or music), has an RSVP that can alphbetize, and allows guests to pay in advance via PayPal....all without charging a high monthly fee.

You might be looking for a professional event planning service like http://www.eventarc.com/ or http://doattend.com/ or http://www.event-planner.net/ where you can set up payment, etc. Maybe I should add a section to this page... Thanks for writing.

Hi, I just want to share...
I made a new online (cartoon) wedding invitation site, (www.vidiyan.com) it is in Bahasa Indonesia.
I made very suitable for Indonesian people, but maybe not for another country.
Maybe you can visit and give your opinion... this is the sample http://vidiyan.com/romeojuliet
    Thank You.

It is great to look over these alternatives to paper invitations. I guess these won't pass for the best etiquette, especially for weddings, but I say "Do what you like -- & let like."
  • shauna7084 Nov 22, 2010 @ 3:02 pm | delete
Yep, some of these offer print and online versions too.

Do you know if there is a site that allows me to add voice to my evite??
  • shauna7084 Nov 17, 2010 @ 2:36 pm | delete
I think madeit.com used to do this, but I just noticed that they seemed to have fallen off the planet. You might try http://cocodot.com/ - I haven't tried it myself, but they do have the ability for you to add your own music, so if you do a voice recording you should be able to upload voice audio as well.
  • sai83 Nov 17, 2010 @ 3:13 pm | delete
Thank you for the quick response. Does http://cocodot.com/ allow us to send an online invitation (evite). It is giving option to get a print. Please advise.
  • shauna7084 Nov 22, 2010 @ 3:01 pm | delete
Yes, you can do online invitations with CoCoDot and add an MP3 with your voice recorded. You can do print invitations for a fee.

I haven't tried using online invitations yet. It is good to know the best sites to use though. Definitely will come handy one of these days.

after typing in 1111 email addresses into Socializr for our office Grand Opening Open House..all to former clients, Socializr sent a message that the limit is 1000 to prevent "spaming". I wish the site had a warning window that had popped up when I had gotten to my limit of guests.
Other than that, the service had a lot of features I liked.
  • shauna7084 Nov 5, 2010 @ 3:41 pm | delete
Jean, so sorry you had to do that! Thank you for coming back to comment. I've updated this page with the info on Socializr. Hopefully it will help someone else from wasting their time like you did.

been using Purple Trail for a few months now and although it looks great I am dissapointed in the usability. It is really slow, does not have a bounce back for undelivered emails. Initialy response to questions was very quick but now they take a long time. We have a subscribtion of $29.99 p/a, you would expect better service.
