Online Invitations and Evite Alternatives
Evite was launched in 1998, claims over 22 million registered users and over 25,000 invitations are sent each hour. However, many prefer the feature lists and options of other free online invitation websites (including Oprah, Robert Scobel and more).

Online Inivitation Websites
- Evite
- Evite seems to be the biggest online invitation website around. They allow you to create custom invitations or to use one of their templates. They also have photo sharing, and RSVP management. However, a lot of people don't like Evite because the invitations they send out don't show any of your event details. Instead you have to click on link to get the details.
- Purple Trail
- Purple Trail boasts that it can do everything that Evites does, plus more with no advertisements on your invitations! With Purple Trail you can send invitations and reminders through email, print, SMS, voice or social networks like Facebook.
- My Punch Bowl
- MyPunchBowl has a tool that helps you pick the perfect date for your party, automatically sends out your invitations, manages all your RSVPs for you, and allows you and your guests to share Flikr photos and YouTube videos after the party.
- Man Vites
- ManVites was created with men in mind. You won't find any girly invitations here. The options to send are "Drink Beer," "Watch Sports," "Poker," "Bachelor Party," "Cougar Hunting" and more.
- Pingg
- Create both online and traditional paper invitations with Pingg. They will print stamp and mail your paper invitations. They will also manage your RSVPs and you can all share your photos here after the party!
- Made It
- With MadeIt you can create your own personalized invitations, share photos after the party, and connect with your friends. Here's a sample custom made video invitation from Made It.
- Good Invitation
- GoodInvitation is a free online tool that you can use as often you want. Choose from many different themes and templates. You can also create a Movie Trailer Invitation, where you choose the words and the end result is voiced-over what appears to be the opening to an epic film.

- A bare bones invitation site, but easy to start using.
- Zoji
- Invitation sending made easy. They even allow guest voting for the best day for the event!

- been using Purple Trail for a few months now and although it looks great I am dissapointed in the usability. It is really slow, does not have a bounce back for undelivered emails. Initialy response to questions was very quick but now they take a long time. We have a subscribtion of $29.99 p/a, you would expect better service.

- The main comment I get about Evite is that it doesn't list the invitation information on the email it sends out.
