Is Consciousness Evolving? If So, How Can We Tell?
Many of us feel it. Its an almost tangible thing. There is a quickening; a quiet urgency that is making its presence known. Some call it the shift.
The time is now. It has been predicted for thousands of years, sometimes with what appears to be contradictory outcomes. What does it mean? How do we prepare? Is this the end? Or, is this a new beginning? Has it already started?
The questions are many. The answers ambiguous.
All of the signs are pointing to us, right here, right now. And, somewhere, deep inside, we do know exactly what to be and do. And, some of us must lead the way.

Predictions for Our Immediate Future
Are a Two Sided Coin
Nearly every major religion and culture has ancient predictions pointing to our time in history. And, each of these predictions seem to contradict each other. Why do you suppose that is?
In my research and reading thus far, whenever I encounter this seeming dichotomy, I believe that we, as a society, are being offered a choice. We can either continue to do the things we have always done in the ways that we have always done them. And, we will continue to get the results we have always gotten. If we choose war as our best peace negotiation tool, we will continue to see pain and destruction as the outcome. If we become peace, war becomes obsolete. And, if we can realize this soon enough, we can change the course that we are on. It is really up to us to decide.

There have been numerous studies done on the effects of meditation with a focus on crime rates in a given area. When a large enough population meditates on peace and loving compassion, the results can be measured in lowered crime rates.
You ARE the most important factor in this equation. If you are reading this, you are key to the world's graceful transition during this shift. If you are meditating on peace, love and beauty, You ARE changing the world. By aligning yourself with Universal Consciousness, YOU are the savior the world has awaited for over 2000 years.

In this interview, quantum physicist and former Presidential candidate John Hagelin explains the difference between intention and consciousness, which opens the door on a fascinating discussion of how spending time in deep meditation in the ?nuclear? level of thought can multiply the efficacy of intentions. Residing in object-free consciousness connects us to a field of pure, unlimited, creative potential, which in turn ripples out through the quantum field, affecting our lives and even large systems in positive ways. He cites studies he has been involved in showing that that a critical mass of meditators has correlated with significantly lowered crime rates. He also predicted similar effects on complex systems from hurricanes to stockmarkets, with positive results so far. Scientific study of such effects is gaining steam and his ambitious Invincible America Assembly project plans to take this work to the next level, training a critical mass of meditators to positively affect the rates of violence for the entire planet.

- Thank you, Susie! I'll give you a shout when I get the photo. My friends are going to email it to me sometime this week. I have only seen it on their camera! In the meantime, I'm doing research on orbs, what they mean, and what they are. VERY interesting stuff!

- The Evolution of Consciousness
- Before we can begin to consider the evolution of consciousness, we have to ask when consciousness first arose. Are human beings alone conscious, or are other creatures also conscious? Is an animal such as a dog, for example, conscious?
Dogs may not be aware of many of the things we are aware of. They are not conscious of much beyond their immediate world, the world defined by the span of their senses. They know nothing of lands beyond the oceans, or the space beyond the earth. Nor can dogs be aware of much beyond the present time. They know nothing of the course of history, or where it might be headed. They are not aware of their inevitable death in the same way that we are. They do not think to themselves in words, and they probably do not reason as we do. And they do not seem to have the self-awareness that we do; they certainly do not get caught up in concern for their own self-image, with all the strange behaviors that engenders. But this does not mean that dogs have no awareness at all.
Dogs experience the world of their senses. They see, hear, smell, and taste their world. They remember where they have been. They recognize sounds. They may like some people or things, and dislike others. Dogs sometimes show fear, and at other times excitement. When asleep, they appear to dream, feet and toes twitching as if on the scent of some fantasy rabbit. They clearly are not just a biological mechanism, devoid of any inner experience. To suggest that they are not conscious is absurd -- as absurd as suggesting that my neighbour across the street is not conscious.
