HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Evolution is not a fact

Evolution (or Macro-evolution, to be specific) is not a fact! You cannot scientifically prove something that you cannot observe.

YOUR TURN!

What do you think?

Do you think that macro-evolution is an irrefutable fact or not?

Is evolution a proven fact?

Yes, evolution is a fact!

trevarrick says:

The problem is your use of the word "fact". Outside mathematics, very little is irrefutable. Most of what we accept as "fact" is really based upon observation, probability and the weight of evidence. On that basis, as science progresses, the evidence for evolution continues to stack up whilst the antagonists have little more to offer other than blind faith and heresay.

Myope says:

Technically, gravity is not a fact. I find it hard to converse with anyone who can believe in an improvable god but ignores what is considered scientific fact. More scientists believe in evolution than believe in the holocaust and the only other option you have been able to come up with is "God did it"!

No.

truthseeker101 says:

Everything did not come from nothing. More and more scientists are leaning toward intelligent design. Those who claim more and more evidence proves evolution, have not actually taken the time to inspect the so called evidence.

blue22d says:

I believe in a creator, God. What evolves on its own? A watch has a creator, a beautiful painting has a creator, our planet did not just evolve one day.

SivartM says:

Technically, gravity can be experimented with. Evolution cannot. Just because they are both called "theories" does not mean that they are equally scientific. Evolution is just a popular idea of how life got to where it is now. Believing that life and the universe are too complex to have just "happened" seems to make more sense than insisting upon a completely naturalistic origin.

peepcorn says:

Some scientists say yes, some scientists say no. If they all can not agree, niether can I.

aka-DJ says:

My favorite argument against evolution is that it is mathematically impossible. There just hasn't been enough time! (Not that it would make a difference if there were !) Even before I became a christian I had serious doubts based on logic. In time I found answers that made sense. Those who seek truth with a sincere open heart & mind will find the same results.
I'm with you.

"No time for evolution"

mjrinella says:

Evolution is definatly not fact. There are so many missing links.

Just like religion, it takes faith to believe in those missing links. So that in itself is why atheism is a religion, but I digress.

Rather than making a large point, I'll just leave it at that.

Ethrock says:

Evolution is not a proven fact no. However it is a credible and ideal hypothesis that can be used to explain a natural phenomenon (pardon my spelling?). I do agree that evolution (Macro) is not a solid fact in its theory. However I also bring to the table that no Religious statement of God or otherwise is fact either, but only the faith taken words. Also, it should be noted that while not a fact, evolution is a theory, and theories in the scientific light pertain just as much, if not more ground than facts. The Theory of Gravity (part of Einstien's (again my spelling) General Theory of Relativity), is only a Theory. We consider it law because of the unlikelyhood of it being disproven (EG. you can't make something fall up). So while Evolution is not a fact, it should also not be discarded as nonsensical ramblings. Darwin was a brilliant man, whether correct or not.
