Examples Of Cover Letters

There are different examples of cover letters. A cover letter is used by an individual when trying to peak the interest of a perspective employer. A cover letter can also be used for contractors introducing themselves to other companies trying to secure a contract. The examples I am sharing are concentrating on the first statement. However, it is critical to remember that any cover letter identifies what is being sent, the person to whom it is being sent, and most important the reason why the cover letter is being used.

First off, lets remind ourselves how to create a cover letter. In a cover letter, keep remarks brief. Your opening paragraph should explain what you are sending and why. In the second paragraph, include a summary of the information you are sending. The third paragraph should state that you would like the opportunity to interview for a position and indicate what you will do to follow up. Close the letter by thanking the employer for his or her consideration. Following up with a phone call in 1 week is suggested.

3 Common Cover Letter Mistakes

Avoiding common cover letter mistakes

  • Too Short - A cover letter should have three paragraphs, each paragraph not over six lines long. The longest one being the middle, one or two, and the shortest one being the final, summation paragraph.
  • Poor Grammar and Misspellings - Many errors can't be seen because the person writing sometimes has a difficult time seeing the mistakes in their own writing. Ask someone to proofread the cover letter for you.
  • Silliness and Humor - Generally speaking, the cover letter offers up an example of your ability's to conduct business communications. It is recommended that you do not include humorous statements.

How To Write a Cover Letter

A resume without a cover letter is like a burger without a bun. If you really wanted a job from somebody, you wouldn't send them a burger without a bun, would you? Of course not.
