What Not to Say
Not only does it never work, it make matters worse by putting you in a adverse position, and you don't want to go there.
Most often these adverse plans fall into two types:
THE BEGGAR
It may go something like this:
"David, please, please call me. This is the 3rd time I have called. I HAVE to talk to you."
or
THE CRISIS
maybe like this:
"Brooke, this is an emergency. Please call me as soon as you get this."
See what I mean? You DON"T want to go there. So, I won't go on and on...

HAVE A PLAN
Plan your strategy
Before you do anything you need to plan your approach...which is figuring out what he/she did that you appreciate.
It needs to be conceivable. It doesn't have to be big, just believable.
But more importantly...
2nd WARNING!
Please have an underlying plan of attack like that laid out in the Magic of Making Up System BEFORE you call.
If you apply this technique with no underlying strategy and they call you back you can do more
DAMAGE than good if you do not have a plan of attack.
