exceed charge: bidding for toys on Yahoo! Auctions Japan

Yahoo! Auctions has had a hard time. The US yahoo auctions site has 'retired', and in a few weeks time the auctions site over here in Singapore will go as well.

However, Yahoo! Auctions Japan (YAJ) is still going strong. There's a lot of trading being done, and some people have set up online stores there, like this user

click on any of his listings and you can tell that he has chalked up positive feedback in the tens of thousands - that's the kind of crazy activity on YAJ this implies - and WHY NOT? YAJ has the greatest collections of all the unique and interesting stuff, whether you are interested in:

motorcycle parts;
toys and figurines;
model and hobby kits;
comics, graphic novels, art books;
or even dried curry packets;

there's a good chance you can find what you want on Yahoo! Japan Auctions.

But here's the catch:

The sellers there don't exactly speak English or Chinese too well; and there's a good chance you can't type Japanese good enough to communicate with them either. And even if you DO communicate, they won't ship their stuff overseas either. So a lot of collectors outside of Japan can't get their hands on all the cool stuff that's in the country. It's frustrating.
