Excel Weight Loss Tracker Workbook

Enter your weight loss goals, and track your weekly weight loss. A chart shows your target, and weight loss to date.

This lens shows you how the Excel weight loss tracker works, and you can download the workbook from the Contextures website: Excel Weight Loss Tracker

Select Measurement System

The first step in using the Excel weight loss tracker is to select the measurement system that you'd like to use. You can select either pounds or kilos, from a drop down list.

That drop down list is created with the Excel Excel Data Validation feature. With a drop down list, you make it easier for users to enter data, and help ensure that you will only enter a valid choice.

Enter Your Weight Loss Goals

After you select a measurement system, you can enter your personal data and weight loss targets.

Please consult your doctor, for advice on setting these goals. This Excel Weight Loss Tracker is for recording data only -- it does not offer any medical advice for your weight management.

In the screen shot below, you can see the data entry sheet, where you will enter your height, weight, and targets.

Data Entry Worksheet

Here is the simple worksheet where you will enter your data. The white cells have formulas, so don't type in those.

Excel BMI Calculations

Excel BMI Body Mass IndexAfter you enter your personal data, including height and weight, the Excel weight loss tracker calculates your Body Mass Index (BMI).

This is general information, and not applicable to specific cases, so please speak to your doctor about this BMI measurement, and how it might apply to you.

Enter Your Weekly Weight Record

After you enter your personal data and target weights, you can start recording your weekly weight loss data.

There is a simple table in the Excel file, where you will enter the date, and your current weight.

Then, click the Refresh All button on the Excel Ribbon, to update the pivot table and pivot chart, that summarize your weight loss history.

Review Your Weight Loss Summary

Your weekly weight records are also shown, so you can compare that to your target, and see how close you're getting.

Download the Excel Weight Loss Tracker

If you'd like to try the Excel weight loss tracker, you can download a zipped copy the file, and use it to track your weight loss and goals.

In the sample file, the sheets are protected, with the green cells unlocked, and there's no password on the worksheets.

There are downloadable versions for Excel 2007/Excel 2010, and Excel 2003 on the Contextures website: Excel Weight Loss Tracker
