As stated previously, it is in their nature for dogs to bark. Like humans who express our emotions in various ways including words and various gestures, dogs likewise show and convey their message their own way. That is by barking. They bark for various reasons. One is because they want something - they want food, they want their masters to play with them, they are bored, they want to defecate, and others. There are dogs from certain breeds, on the other hand, that bark because they perceive a threat and they are trained to help their masters in pursuit of a task. These are natural and valid reasons, but as said last time, if dogs bark too much, that must be the right time for you to act since it brings so much problems to you and other people.
If you want to put an end to excessive dog barking, practice these pointers.
First, you should address the root problem as to why he barks. Is your pet hungry? Is he bored? Does he want to defecate? Is he thirsty? Does he have everything he needs? If so, find other reasons. Dogs have the tendency to bark excessively to get what they want. A case in point is when you are reading the papers and your dog begins barking too much after deciding he wants some playtime. In this case don't surrender to his harassment. Well-meaning owners get up and play with their pets, when the fact is it will only encourage them to harass next time. You, being the master, should show him you are the boss, so if he shows this dominant behavior, stand up, turn your back against him, and completely ignore his presence. Don't even look at him. By doing this, you tell your pet you are the one in control, not him.
Another thing you can try is to clasp his muzzle firmly. Dogs will squirm at first, so place your other hand on his collar. If he gets quiet then that means he has submitted himself to your authority. This way you not only stopped his barking, but you showed him you have the authority, not him.
If he's barking because of separation anxiety, make sure you have some playtime with him before leaving. Keeping him well-exercised will make him tired, and since he's tired he will spend the time sleeping rather than barking. Give your dog the chance to settle down before you leave. You can also leave toys to serve as distractions or a companion animal to keep him busy. You should get him used to being alone even when you're around.
Whatever the reason is, don't yell at him nor reward him when he barks, because that will send him mixed messages and he will never learn properly.

What to expect
First things first. I was surprised when I purchased the ebook myself, expecting it to be some plain ebook full of text. But for a 175-page ebook, the author has clearly covered everything, and it's not all plain text, either. It has over 100 photos to help illustrate some of the lessons covered, making it a great visual learning tool.
As I mentioned, the ebook covers everything dog owners should know about owning and teaching their dogs effectively. Basically, it's divided into many chapters, so even first-time dog owners have something to learn here. The author first teaches the basics (owning a dog, puppy-proofing a room, dog breeds, how to house train a dog, etc) before teaching the more advanced stuff. This includes dog behavior (reasons why dogs behave in a certain way, aggressive behavior, excessive barking, chewing, digging, whining, rolling, etc), dog health, and advanced dog training and obedience commands and tricks.
As you read the ebook, you will realize that the author has laid out the lessons pretty nicely and smoothly, covering everything which dog owners, regardless of experience, should know. You will soon learn that Daniel clearly has a deep understanding of dogs, and why they act the way they do. It is full of common-sense and real-life approach backed by real case studies which let you learn why they worked, and how you can do it, too, to your dog. In short, he has not left anything out. For a 175-page ebook, it is surprisingly very informative, meaty and filled with both basic and advanced lessons laid out in easy-to-understand terms.
What I liked best, particularly, is what Daniel referred to as "dog whispering." This technique involves using the correct body language to effectively make the dog obey your command without problems. In fact, the author has devoted an entire section to it, covering its roots, concepts, and how you can apply it to everyday commands like sit, down, come, stay, quiet, etc.
To give you an idea, here are some of the many dog problems tackled in the ebook, and you will learn how to solve them from real-life case studies presented:
1. Aggression
2. Thieving
3. Biting and Nipping
4. Travel Problems
5. Coprophagia (poop eating)
6. 2 Dogs In The House
7. Destructive Behavior
8. A Death In The Family
9. Digging Holes
10. Bad Breath
11. Disobedience
12. Cat Chaser
13. Dominance Aggression
14. Flatulence
15. Fear of the Leash
16. Fleas
17. Fights Between Dogs
18. Hot Weather And Heatstroke
19. Nuisance Barking
20. Jealousy
21. Off-Leash Problems
22. Jumping On Furniture
23. Jumping On People
24. Worms
So, all in all, some of the techniques in the ebook are quite easy to apply, but some, like dog whispering, requires your persistence before you master them completely. In fact, you should devote some time training your dog using this ebook for you to succeed, because while many of these techniques can bring amazing results, if you're always busy and have little time for it, you will not likely see the results you want. So, don't buy it if you'll just read it and tuck it away.
Bonuses
Aside from the ebook, you will also get (as of this writing) seven bonuses with each covering specific areas of dog ownership. For one, the ebook is now offered as an audio download, to accomodate other people who learn better with audio, and so you can bring it with you anywhere you go. Other bonuses include manuals on how to handle dog agression, house training, dog grooming (including coat care for specific breeds and nail clipping), security training, becoming the alpha dog, and access to members only forum.
Conclusion
To sum it up, $37 is peanuts compared to the hundreds or even thousands you will save from hiring dog experts or from sending your dog to training schools which might not be as effective as the techniques you'll get from this manual. Add to it the fact that it has seven bonuses, the price is a steal. It is really a no-brainer decision. All in all, this is highly recommended.
