5 Great Ways To Work Out At Work

If you're like me, you have a hard time doing everything you need to do in a day. Exercise is the hardest to fit in. I'd like to share what I've been doing at the office to successfully lose weight and get fit.

Do Something USEFUL While Working

Work Out At The Office

If you're a working parent, you know how hard it is to find the time to exercise. You get up early, get the kids ready, get yourself ready, go to work, pick up the kids come home, fix dinner, eat, help with homework, and wind the kids down for bed. After that, you're lucky to have any time to exercise. What, your day wasn't exhausting enough?

Several months ago, I devised a workout routine to do at work. A few short weeks later, my colleagues were complimenting my 14 lb. weight loss and asked what my secret was. Embarrassed, I told them that I was exercising every time I used the bathroom. After a round of exceptionally bad jokes, they let me off the hook and asked be to write down my routine.

It's been a month now. We have a secret rotating bathroom schedule, and everyone looks great! Check it out!

1. Bathroom Squats. Sounds awful, right? Seriously, it's not so bad. Just stay as far away from the toilet as you can.
2. Stall Pushups. Personally, I do these in the handicapped stall using the wall-mounted rail. They don't give you the same range of motion as pushups done from the ground, but I don't want to get that close to the bathroom floor.
3. Tape Dispenser Curls. Who says you have to use weights? My tape dispenser is ancient, about 2 pounds, and perfect for any arm exercise you can think of. And if someone walks in on me doing these at my desk, I just show them the muscle definition of my biceps.
4. High Rise Cardio. I don't work in a high-rise, but if I did, I'd take 10-15 minutes every few hours and run the stairs. As it stands, my building is 2 floors, but long, so I have great hallways. I go as fast as I can without attracting too much attention. Circling the building a few times is great for my energy - especially in the mid-afternoon.
5. Computer Crunches. These are so easy to do in front of your computer and no one knows the wiser! And you'll be ripped before you know it.

These are just a few things that I've been doing to make myself healthier. You may also want to check out a few of the following links on diet and exercise. I've begun the diet program, and so far, I'm stoked about it.

I've never been much of a dieter. I'm giving this a shot because a co-worker is using it and loves it. She looks great!
