I used to enjoy playing with magnets, such as getting those that would stick to each other and trying to keep them at a distance where they'd gravitate to each other but wouldn't actually connect.

Very very nice lens! I didn't get to read every word, so I am not sure if you mentioned that permanent magnets quit working, (turn off), about 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Magnets and magnetic fields are marvelous and magical things! Thanks again for the nice, informative lens!

There have been some problems with children swallowing magnets, the magnets attracting and causing bowel obstructions. Lot of warnings for young children. Probably pets too.

When I was a kid I was fascinated by magnets and I still find them interesting. Good page on the subject - blessed.

Did u know that broken bones heal faster with magnets
That magnets can remove electro magnetic pollution from ur tap water
That magnets can prevent scaling of water pipes boilers and radiators
    Great lense!

I found your web site whilst checking for something distinct on Google about topics related to Magic Tricks, although I had the opportunity to go through this article and I found it really useful indeed.

Great lens! I love playing around with magnets. My oldest daughter made a mini-maglev train as a science project when she was in elementary school. It's one of the few projects that we've kept. Thanks for all the great info!

Experimenting with things is such a good way to learn. A big thumbs-up for this lens.

Wow -- that's a lot of resources about magnets. (I have just one activity book and a couple cheap magnet kits myself.)
  • alexkazam Aug 2, 2010 @ 3:20 am | delete
What an inspiring lens- you even managed to incorporate magic and Bucky (Buckminster Fuller) into you lens! A great source of rare earth magnets is from old computer hard drives- hard to get at, but they are extremely powerful magnets (handle with care)!

Brilliant lens. I loved mapping magnetic fields when I was at school. One of my most memorable physics lessons.

How about giving the magnetic train in Japan a mention? I believe there is also a version in Germany.

Excellent lens, in fact one of the best ones I've seen so far. I just have to make sure my husband doesn't see it or he'll be on a magnet buying binge.
  • hayleylou Oct 15, 2009 @ 7:05 am | delete
Excellent, lots of fab ideas here! My boys love their magnets, they can often be seen walking around carrying the contents of our cutlery drawer on their magnet, 5 stars

Great job. I love that trick about finding North with your watch. If it stops raining, I will give it a try. Angel blessed.
