Canada Is A Photographer's Paradise
As such, there are many reasons people from other countries should travel to Canada - though one trip would never do it justice. In addition, people who live within Canada should take opportunities presented to them to explore their own country because there is more to living in Canada than meets the eye.
This lens was created, primarily, to provide you a visual feast of what you will discover in Canada's natural habitat, from a resident photographer. I'm glad you decided to take me up on this virtual entry into Canada; I hope you enjoy your journey.

A Photographer's Paradise
Photographers make wonderful memories in Canada, whether they live in Canada or travel to Canada from far away to see this large national wonderland.
Canada provides a feast for the photographer's eye and stimulates the imagination. The only regret photographers will have in leaving Canada is they'll wish they could have stayed longer.
Photographers and Canada
Bring a camera and enjoy taking photos of all Canada has to boast, including the following:
- 1waterfalls and botanical gardens. There is something refreshing about being near a waterfall. It's equally refreshing when a waterfall is surrounded by botanical gardens.
- 2scenic mountain ranges, from the peaks to the valleys. There are various mountain ranges in Canada from the Rocky Mountains in B.C. and Alberta to the Mealy Mountains of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- 3wooded trails and rippling brooks. It's always wonderful to sit near a rippling brook along a wooded trail. Of course, the wooded trails without any brooks hold an appeal, as well.
- 4scenic overlooks and close-up shots of fascinating rocks and seashells. Personally, I don't know if I can ever spend too much time around a seashore.
- 5miles of sandy beaches. Canada boasts numerous beaches from the coasts of B.C. to the sandy beaches of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia to the rocky shores of Newfoundland.
- 6wildlife galore. How close will animals come to get their photo taken? Very close, especially in national parks. They will walk up and stand beside the photographer's open window.
- 7cloud formations. Saskatchewan is known as the land of the living skies - which summarizes it nicely. There are beautiful cloud formations which photographers won't want to miss.
Photography Preferences
What's your preference in photography?

Landscapes
MattJoyce says:
I personally prefer landscapes as there's generally more to see in both the foreground and the distance
ajgodinho says:
Landscapes for sure, but in nature, you can appreciate all it's beauty in various forms!
Irenemaria says:
Lush trees with the mountains in the back ground!
Seascapes
kimmanleyort says:
I love both, but since I live in the midwest, seascapes are always new and inspiring to me.
Norma_Budden says:
I enjoy a beautiful landscape as well as anyone else. However, I enjoy photographing the ocean and shorelines, as well as other bodies of water - especially at sunset or sunrise.
Expectations When Traveling to Canada
Expect to fall in love - not necessarily with a person but with a land which is abundant in terms of space. There is plenty of elbow room in Canada and photos can be taken in almost every direction you turn your head.
Personal Travels in Canada
Granted, airlines are great for getting you from point A to B when there are only a few days available for traveling and when business meetings must be attended. However, when weeks of time are granted in pursuit of traveling to other places, there is nothing quite like hitting the open road and seeing what a day may bring forth.
In actuality, all of the photos I have taken have come as a result of unexpected jewels I've discovered in nature - trips I've taken on a whim just to see what an area may hold. Have I seen it all? Not a chance!

Traveling Canada With Your Family
Even so, when summer vacation arrives, it's a wonderful feeling to not be dictated to by a clock - except the one which says it's time to check out of the hotel. Even then, we anticipate the adventure the day will bring because we are guaranteed to discover something along the way.
My children and I seem to bond even more during summer vacation; we laugh and play and joke around, even trying to outsmart one another with our quips and antics, on some occasions. At other times, we're singing songs as we travel along which we certainly couldn't do while on an aircraft. Even more enjoyable is the ability to see something we didn't expect and to stop for a few hours to enjoy our new discovery.
Because I definitely enjoy taking my children on vacation with me, I couldn't imagine taking most trips without them. However, I would like to hear your thoughts. Please consider visiting the link immediately below.
During the spring of 2010, I took my son on a road trip to Winnipeg and Saskatchewan. In Nunavut (where we live) there was still snow and ice almost everywhere we looked. However, when in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, we were able to go around with sweaters on and could enjoy some of the prairie scenery where the snow was almost gone and the ice had melted.
This is one of a few photos I took during our time in Saskatchewan.
This is only one of many sunset photos I have taken. Unfortunately, too many of those shots were taken in the days before I owned a digital camera.
This photo was taken at Pigeon Lake - which makes this an Alberta sunset photo. It certainly was a wonderful place to spend a few hours before the sun went down. I actually got lost when standing on the shoreline looking at the scenery.

- I agree, Canada is truly a photographer's paradise. It's great that you've had the opportunity to see so much of Canada. I've only been to Nova Scotia and of course live in Ontario, but am breath-taken by its beauty. Beautiful lens filled with gorgeous pictures of Canadian landscapes.
