What Should I Be Looking For When Buying An MP3 Player That Is suitable For Audio Books.

Originally MP3 players would have been used for music, but more and more more  people are downloading their audio books, on to MP3 players as an alternative to music and for use while on the move.

Here are some ideas to consider before you purchase an MP3 player.

  (1) A large memory is very important, and you should ideally go for an MP3 player that will store 4, 5 or 6, hours or more.

  (2) Another handy feature is how it can be interrupted i.e. OFF / ON or REPLACING BATTERIES.   Probably like myself you don't mind listening to your favourite music again from the start, but with an audiobook you want to have a bookmark or a pause facility rather than starting again from the begining each time, allowing a continuity of the story.

(3) You may find that the volume is sufficient while sitting at home listening to an audio book on MP3 with earphones, but it can be a different matter when travelling on noisey public transport etc. A good idea would be to take your favourite headphones with you when purchasing an MP3 player, and try to guage the difference in volume, one model from another.

  (4) If you use your MP3 frequently while travelling, then give a thought to battery life. Some players use the built in rechargeable battery system, which may not last to the end of your audio book or the end of your journey. Replacment batterys would make an obvious choice in this situation. so as with digital cameras it is wise to purchase the best batteries possible.
