Express Your Soul

In today's society when we are constantly bombarded with dark and negative energy through the media, through war and destruction, and through the everyday reality of our ever-changing world, it is ever more urgent that we find ways to inspire ourselves and others to nurture the light.

Among the many ways we can inspire ourselves and others are religion and/or spirituality, knowledge gained through reading books, enjoying and sharing music in its many forms, photographic and graphic images of inspirational subjects, appreciation of nature, and/or interaction with and/or teaching of others to name a few. We can even be inspired by TV and the internet through inspirational movies, spiritual programming, and inspirational websites. We can become a walking advertisement for inspiration and spirituality through the clothing we wear, bumper stickers on our cars, and other items providing inspirational and/or spiritual messages. We can inspire ourselves and others through volunteering and performing spiritual works. We can even inspire through developing creative outlets such as writing, crocheting or knitting, drawing, and/or photography that allow us to share the products of our outlets with others.

I hope that you will find a source of inspiration here with which to nurture your light or the light of others. Dare to seek out sources of inspiration and dare to share those sources with your friends and family.

1. Set a good example by doing the right thing even when it is hard.

2. Do something kind for a complete stranger.

4. If you are religious, take a friend to church.

7. Smile at strangers even when you're having a bad day. By forcing yourself to smile, you might just convince yourself to be in a better mood and help the mood of others while you're at it.

8. Knit or crochet a shawl or blanket to donate to a nursing home.

9. Coach a little league baseball or peewee hockey team.

10. Spend quality time with the people you love who love you.
