Extreme Travel
Ranked #444 in Sports & Recreation, #18,809 overall
The most exciting woman on earth
Lesley Carter is, what I would call an Extreme Traveler. She's been to 33 countries, with "no intention of stopping there", despite being 7 months pregnant now. She Has tried just about every sport imaginable including white-water rafting, skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, rock climbing, dog sledding, base jumping, kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding, rappelling, and caving. Whew! I got exhausted just reading the list.
In her words she has "tried every "bucketlist" adventure I could imagine." And she really means it. On her wedding day, in Jamaica mind you, she even managed to work in some rock climbing, followed by, now get this, a trapeze act in her gown!
Bungee Jumping, isn't that just falling?
A Bridge to Nowhere
Ho-Hum, another day in the life of Lesley as she bungee jumps off the top of a bridge in in Angeles National Forest. She says that the 'Bridge to nowhere' as it's called, see the link below, is set deep in the San Gabriel Canyon and is a rough, 5 mile hike over tough terrain to get to. And that's before you throw yourself off this thing!Note: For those of you that don't know what bungee jumping is, you tie what is basically a giant rubber band around your feet and, with no other safety equipment what so ever, you just jump off of stuff. Like bridges.
Sky Diving in San Diego
A 13,000 foot leap of faith
They must be some silver tongued, charming devils over there at Sky Diving San Diego because they keep handing people, what appears to be a child's back pack, and then tell them to leap out of a plane! And people do it! Now, maybe if the plane was on fire I could see that making sense but even then I'd probably try to ride it out to the bitter end. But not Lesley, she just goes ahead and hops right on out the door like she's getting out of a cab to go to dinner. I'm starting to think she might bee a little 'touched' in the head as my grandmother used to say. When asked what she liked better about sky diving over bungee jumping, Lesley responded "I fall for longer." How long, exactly, does one fall for when sky diving, you ask? Over SIXTY seconds. That's an awful long time to think about what might go wrong. Oh, did I mention that she was falling at the rate of 120 miles per hour too? Hasn't this girl heard of TV? Ya know, put in a DVD, pour a little wine, relax? Not for her I guess.

Best wife ever!
Air Combat USA
Although she's not MY wife, I can still certainly appreciate that Lesley sure knows how to be a good wife. For their first anniversary Lesley got Rich, her husband, the "Top Gun" experience at Air Combat USA. It was one of his dreams to be a fighter pilot and engage in aerial dog fights so this amazing woman made that dream come true for him. She said "It costs $1,300 but the experience is priceless!" Hey, Lesley, are there any more like you at home? A sister, perhaps?Based in Fullerton, California, Air Combat USA is the original civilian dogfighting school anywhere in the world and they provide their clients with the experience of flying real fighters, accompanied, of course, by licensed fighter pilots. They even capture your entire experience on hi-resolution cameras for you to enjoy later.
To read the full, detailed account of Rich's day as an 'Ace' follow the link below.
Fighter Pilot for a day
Paragliding in Southern California
Look, up in the sky, is that Lesley?

Why did you decide to try paragliding, Lesley?
Leslie: "Because I wasn't ready for a solo sky dive but I wanted the power of controlling the parachute."
Well that makes sense. So off into the air like a bird she took. Paragliding has always reminded me of flamingos. Gawky yet oddly graceful. The good people at Eagle Paragliding were kind enough to strap a giant kite to her back, gave her a radio in case something went wrong...I assume they all wanted to run out with binoculars and watch the results if something did go poorly for her? But, again, this crazy gal loved the experience.
If you want to know which one she loved the best, read her blog in the link below.

The Lesley Carter 1 Year Challenge
Are you a Real woman?

Lesley Carter, the amazing woman featured in this article, just recently popped up on my radar and I've been thinking about her a lot. It's not very oftebn you find someone with such an unquenchable passion for life and the drive to live life to the fullest so, when you do find someone like that, it makes you think. And what I've been thinking is that Lesley needs a new challenge so I am, very publibly, throwing down the gauntlet. Here's the challenge, I believe that Lesley can, in just one year, accomplish the following goals:
1) Have her own show.
2) Become one of the most recognized and respected spokespeople around.
3) Become a houshold name in America.
Does that sound crazy for just one short year? What do you think? Do you think lesley can pulll it off? Vote at the bottom of the page to show her your support.
Have her own show
Your YouTube audience is waiting, Lesley
Lesley, I challenge you to start your own Youtube show called Lesley Carter's Real Women. In this show you would challenge women to do things they have always wanted to do but have never been brave enough to try. Things like sky diving, bungee jumping, etc. You would follow these women, interview them and film them as they break out of their comfort zones and prove that they are, in fact, Real Women. Filmed in a raw, real fashion, the production costs could be kept very low. The challenge could be made to your existing subscriber base for the first draft of participants. Be a spokesperson
Lesley you are the brand
Using your new show, blog, Facebook network and the slogan Real Women, I challenge you Lesley to attract sponsorship deals and promote herself as the spokesperson for women everywhere. I see a world with Lesley billboards dotting the city skyline. The billboard featured above for example or one saying "Real Women set themselves free at Sky Diving San Diego", a company that I'm sure would love to be seen as the friend of all women. What existing spokesperson could compare? Who's been to more countries or had more adventures or who is more Real than our girl Lesle? No one. Promoted properly, there are a lot of companies that I'm betting would be chomping at the bit to support her.
Become a household name in America
"Have you seen that adventure chick, Lesley Carter? She's awesome!"
Countdown to The 1 Year Lesley Carter Challenge ends in...
Can Lesley do it?
Is she a Real Woman?
She can't do it alone, people, Lesley needs the help of us, her fans, so let's make sure she knows that we want this and that we will be there to support her every step of the way. Vote below, post on her blog page (link below) and join me in shouting out "We want more Lesley!"
Do you think Lesley can achieve these 3 goals in 1 year?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byHell yes!
Aquavel says:
She can definitely do it if she wants to do it. Has she said she would take up the challenge?

Absolutely, positively. How many opportunities come by like this? Hope she takes advantage of it.

I honestly think if you want something bad enough, you'll get it and this superb woman seems to get, do and be exactly what she wants. EXCELLENT

I'm skeptical but I'd sure like to see her try!
EL says:
First, I have to say, that yes, she is amazing !
However... I believe she lives in California now... and California is the number one place where millions of people move to, on regular basis to achieve very similar goals .. almost every waiter/bartender in California wants to have his/her own show, book and be rich and famous : ) ...
so the "numbers" are against her... but, anyone who wants something bad enough, has nothing to loose, has thick enough skin to to play the "biz" game and willing to sacrifice a bunch of things.. then I don't see why it would be unachievable.. especially for a daredevil like her..
go Lesley!

- Although I didn't think too much about the challenge because I'm now almost 9 months pregnant and my baby girl is my first concern, I think I've inadvertently found a company that wants to focus their ad campaign around me, therefore making me their spokesperson. I think that was one of hardest parts about the challenge so it may become something after all. I'll know this week and keep you posted :)

- I just checked out Leslie's blog. I believe that she and I could have been friends in my younger years. I loved adventure. The latest adventure on my bucket list concerns a zip line installed close to my hometown. I'm planning a group ride for this coming summer. I hope my heart will stand the ride. (Just kidding .. I've heard that it is more beautiful than exciting. I'll let you know.)

- Hello everyone!
I'm Lesley Carter and I'm currently 7.5 months pregnant. Any other time in my life I would have responded to this challenge immediately, but I'm hesitant with a baby on the way. I think it's doable even with my first child due in March but I've never put my mind to something that I couldn't accomplish so I'm still thinking about if I want to put so much effort into something like this right now.
Give me a few mores days. :)
