Stars, soundtrack and plot summary

Alexandre Desplat is scorer for "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close", taking over from Nico Mulhy who was originally assigned to the project. Mulhy even has his name credited on the film's poster and first trailer. Desplat had previously scored "The King's Speech" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" among many others, and more recently George Clooney's "The Ides of March".

"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" stars Tom Hanks, which incidentally is written by Eric Roth who wrote the screenplay for Hank's 1994 film "Forrest Gump". Maybe that explains the soft piano tunes in the first 30 seconds of the "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" trailer, which also features U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name". However, U2's song is not included in the original movie soundtrack album which features Desplat's original score. The album has been released digitally and is not available for download from Amazon. The CD version will be released on January 17, 2012.

The film is an adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel of the same name, and details the story of a "different than everyone else" 9-year-old boy who finds a key in a vase that belongs to his dead father and sets out to find the lock that it goes into. (Doesn't "different than everyone else" brings to mind scenes from "Forrest Gump"?)
Besides Tom Hanks, the film stars Thomas Horn, Sandra Bullock, Max VonSydow, John Goodman and Viola Davis.
"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" opened in limited release on December 25, 2011.

Never heard of this movie until this lens but from what you've put on here it seems like a pretty decent flick with a pretty decent soundtrack.
