How I Discovered Eye Exercises To Improve Vision
My Story
As a kid, I was always the one to find whatever was missing, big or small, be it the ball my brother lost in the big bush, or the tiny diamond from my mother's wedding ring on the living room floor. People would tell me, "Damn, Chris, you have eyes like a hawk!" I loved when people would tell me that. It made me feel special, as if I possessed some sort of power that others did not have. It was wonderful. I didn't even know what theIn 2001, I was unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with something I thought I would never have - myopia, aka nearsightedness. Now, even though it is not a life-threatening ailment, it certainly is life-altering. I thought to myself, "Man with this sort of luck, I should play the lottery!" Being naïve at the time, I figured the only way to "correct" my failing eyesight was with "corrective lenses", otherwise known as glasses.
Growing up, I never thought I would have to wear glasses. I mean, sure, when I did wear them, they certainly did make me see more clearly. From the time I began wearing glasses I would always question why. Being the stubborn man that I am, I would often ask myself "Why do I need to wear glasses to see clearly? What's so different about my eyesight than that of a man who has perfect vision?" But still, I had no choice. I had to continue to wear the glasses. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to see clearly.
Two years had passed, and in 2003, I was prescribed with stronger lenses - because my vision had been getting worse and worse. "Why was my vision getting worse?" I thought. "I've been wearing my glasses like I'm supposed to be doing, and now my eyesight's even worse?!" Now, excuse my French, but this downright pissed me off. I didn't understand why my eyes kept getting worse, especially when I felt I was doing everything right and nothing wrong. It was at that point in time, when I became an observer.
Occasionally, I would notice that my eyes would be clearer at some points during the day than at others. And again I thought to myself, "Why am I seeing things a little more clearly now than I was earlier in the day?" Or "Why is my vision very clear when I first wake up, and then just gradually get worse throughout the day?" I asked myself many questions of that nature, questions which further fed my curiosity on the subject. I thought to myself, "If my vision can fluctuate from good to bad to good to bad throughout the day, why can't I just make it good all day?" That is what sparked my journey to restoring my vision to 20/20 and get rid of my glasses. I knew there just HAD to be some sort of eye exercises to improve vision.
I would come up with all these theories and test them to see if they were true. For example, I would note how my eyes felt when I wore my glasses all day. Then I would compare how I felt then to how I felt at the end of day when I didn't wear glasses all day. I found that my eyes were much more relaxed and focused easier by the end of the day on the days which I didn't wear glasses. Not only through reading Vision Without Glasses (link below), but through first-hand experience, I learned that the truth is that...
Glasses actually make your eyes worse.
I have actually read this fact from many different sources (most prominently Vision Without Glasses (link below)), but before coming across it in any of the research I have done, one of my theories was just that: wearing glasses makes one's eyes worse than they were before. I hypothesized this theory from my own day-to-day experiences wearing glasses as I mentioned above. I would wake up and my eyes would be clear. At night, after wearing my glasses all day, my eyes would hurt. The more I wore my glasses, the more my eyes would hurt, and the worse my vision would become. Eyes hurt -> vision worsens. It is a known physiological fact that pain is a warning message from your body telling you that something is wrong. Perhaps you are putting too much strain on whatever body part it may be. And it could just become worse and worse if you don't...
Stop the pain at the source.
One must stop pain and discomfort at the source - and the BEST way to do that is to perform eye exercises to improve vision. For example, when you have a headache, sure, you can take Aspirin. Medicine will only mask the symptoms, not cure them. When one takes headache medicine, the medicine may last the duration of the headache, and once the medicine wears off, the headache is gone. One may think that the aspirin has cured them of their headache, but really the headache went away on its own. The aspirin just masked the symptoms. The truth is that... Glasses are only a "crutch" too.
Billions of people in the world rely on corrective lenses for them to function in their everyday lives. But wearing glasses does not correct the problem at the source, it just masks it. The problem actually comes from within and around the eye, and with knowledge (by doing programs like Vision Without Glasses (link below)), proper care, and exercise, one can bring their eyesight back to normal. Now, don't get me wrong, glasses are a wonderful invention. They make millions of people see clearly who would otherwise be seeing blurrily. But glasses are the easy way out. When someone realizes they cannot see clearly, they go to the eye doctor, get a prescription for glasses or contacts, and out they go, all in the matter of a day. Quick and easy and they can see fine once more. But again, they are not solving the problem at the source. To solve the problem at the source, one needs to use simple eye exercises to improve vision naturally.
Take this analogy for example. I once knew an extremely obese person, around 340 pounds, who wanted to lose weight. It was estimated that for that person to work their way to lose enough weight and get down to a healthy level (200 pounds) it could take a year or more. That person could have taken the time to change their diet and begin an exercise routine to healthily lose all the weight they wanted. But no. This person wanted to take the easy way out and get liposuction and gastro-bypass surgery to lose the weight.
The surgery took off 85 POUNDS of fat and extra skin. Sure, it worked for them. They brought their weight down to around 200 pounds, and looked much better. But it was because of surgeries that they made it work. That's not in anyway the healthy way to do it. Sure, it may have taken longer to adjust their diet and begin an exercise routine, but it would have been much healthier. Unfortunately, they wanted the quick and easy (and extremely unhealthy) way out.
When we want to achieve something, we must work for it. Just like proper diet and exercise are healthy for our bones and muscles, the same holds true for our eyes as well, because...
Our eyes are muscles, just like any other muscle in your body.
Just like a runner runs to build muscle in the legs to get faster, one must exercise their eyes to keep the eyes healthy and strong. As the old adage goes, if you don't use, you lose it. The same applies to your vision. If you don't take care of your vision in all aspects, you will lose it. For example, if you spend a lot of time focusing close up, i.e. reading, writing, or staring at a computer screen, your eyes will "forget" how to focus in the distance. But if you use eye exercises to improve vision, you will retain your vision as long as your eyes stay fit.Think about it. Have you ever kept your head in one position to one side long enough i.e. slept on one side of your body the whole night, or with no pillow, and woke up with a stiff neck? Just like any other muscle in the body, that's exactly how our eyes work. If you keep your eyes focused on the near for too long, the muscles of the eye become so accustomed to that position that it is hard to move or focus them any other way.
When you turn your head and look to the left, you are putting strain on you neck. The longer you do this at once, the more strain you put on your neck, the more it will become stiff, and the harder it will be to bring it back to the normal, straight-ahead position. Your eyes are the same way. Just as the neck and head are designed to look straight ahead with ease, the human eye is designed to be focused on objects around 7 feet away, sometimes further.
When you read Rediscover Your Vision, your eyes will become opened to the facts even more...no pun intended ;-)
By now, you may be asking yourself, "well if these eye exercises to improve vision in Rediscover Your Vision really work, how come I've never heard of them? How come my eye doctor has never told me about them? Why isn't everybody doing them?" I'll tell you exactly why. It's because of...
What the government doesn't want you to know.
The eye care industry is a multi-billion dollar per year industry. If the government agencies (i.e. the FDA) would approve these eye exercises to improve vision, a LOT less people would be wearing glasses and contact lenses, meaning that a lot less people would be purchasing glasses, new frames, contact lenses, contact lens solution, etc. This means that the eye care industry would take a huge hit below the belt and wouldn't make as much money as they could be. It's pretty greedy if you ask me. They are basically sacrificing people's vision for a little extra money in their industry.I could go for hours on this topic alone, but I don't want to get on a rant. You get the idea though, right? FDA approving eye exercises = less money for the eye care industry. That is why eye exercises to improve vision are not offered in public nor by most conventional eye doctors. As of right now, these exercises are only made public on the internet and in eye exercise programs like Rediscover Your Vision (which I highly recommend).

Now that you have an idea of the concepts and principles that lie within eye exercises to improve vision, you are ready to learn some actual exercises! To learn exactly how to do all of the eye exercises to improve vision that you need, I HIGHLY recommend you check out Rediscover Your Vision. The Rediscover Your Vision program has tons more great information and eye exercises to improve vision than this Squidoo lens does.Like I said before, I'm not going to sugarcoat any of this information for you. I want to see you succeed in this just as much as you do. For some it may take only 30 days, maybe even less. For others, it may take months and months. The bottom line is that using eye exercises to improve vision can be done, and it is possible to rid yourself of those eye-crutches you use everyday, be they glasses or contacts. You just need to educate yourself on the subject and begin to perform the eye exercises to improve vision.
NOTE: I recommend you only do the exercises once a day for up to 30 minutes a day, although you can do the relaxation techniques as much as you want. It's like taking a shower. You can take a shower for 5 minutes, or you can take a shower for 40 minutes, but a 5 minute shower will get you just as clean as a 40 minute shower. Don't overdo it.
- Palming - sit and cover your eyes with your palms so that all you see is black. Do this whenever you feel your eyes need a good relaxing, i.e. every hour of sitting at the computer, palm for 5 minutes.
- Sunning - sit out in the sun for about 5 minutes, eyes closed of course. Face the sun and turn your head slowly from left to right and back. This will allow your eyes to absorb all the Vitamin A they need to function properly.
- Splashing - splash the eyes daily with clean lukewarm water to rid the eyes of debris and other particles that can obstruct vision.
- Eye Massaging - see video below.
- Breath 'N Blow - see video below.
- Eye Motions - see video below.
The above exercises are only a very small sample of relaxation eye exercises to improve vision. There are many more eye exercises to improve vision, all of which you can learn in the Rediscover Your Vision course.
