Why Eye Glasses and Contacts Can't Improve Vision?
Eye glasses and contact lenses do help us see better, but in the long term they do nothing, or very little to stop further progression of some eye condition.
Some studies show that excessive wearing of eye glasses and contact lenses can even worsen the vision.
Why is that? The answer lies in the physiology of an eye. The physiology of our entire body (including our eyes) works by keeping balance. When something attacks the balance of the body, it activates certain mechanisms to restitute the balance. For example when our body is dehydrated, it activates mechanisms for thirst and reduces other ways of losing water, so we would drink and restore the balance of water in our body.
Attacks on physiological balance of our body are constant and while some of them are insignificant because our body can restore the balance, other attacks can cause diseases and even death. This is due to the imperfection of mentioned mechanisms.
Even when balance is stirred there are always mechanisms that try to restore the balance, even if sometimes that is not possible.
When people suffer from some refractive error, their eyes are unable to focus objects at various distances so they cannot see them clearly. Even so, eyes are trying through mentioned mechanisms to overcome refractive errors and restore perfect vision. When people wear corrective eye glasses and/or contact lenses, eyes don't have any need to adopt to imperfection, because they are already seeing clearly and this can be one of the reasons why eye glasses and contact lenses do very little to improve vision and stop further progression of refractive disorder.

- I was searching for eyeglass related lens and I came across yours. I didn't know that exercises can help to stop the progression of poor eyesight.
Your lens really complements my Squidoo lens for eyeglass cases, eyeglass cases tutorial and the online eyeglass cases boutique I set up. Would love to know what you think?

- While eye exercises can help comfort and generally are not harmful, they are not likely to allow you to throw away your glasses or contacts. The FTC intervenes when products are sold with unfounded claims like pinhole glasses and the info-mercial about a $495 eye-robics program. Try but Beware!
