OK, so you're an F1 fan (like me), and you want to feel the racing experience (almost) for real. There are a few great games available, dependent on which platform you're using. I'll talk you through the different options, give you some tips and give a few recommendations on the best F1 games for you!

For the Xbox 360 gamer: F1 2011

F1 2011

Amazon Price: $18.97 (as of 05/30/2012)

Simply my favorite F1 game on the Xbox 360. Up to date with the latest tracks, the latest rules (KERS + DRS) and all the current driver line ups. The graphics are as good as you would expect from the Xbox 360 and the Career mode helps to bring a bit more continuity to the experience. Start up as a Rookie unknown driver at a small, back of the grid team and work your way up to legend status! Lots of fun, and a definite recommendation.

If you want to take your driving experience an even bigger step up, the best bet to get the most out of your f1 games is to buy a racing wheel. To get as close to really pounding around the track at 200mph+, a steering wheel and peddles is definitely a step in the right direction. This is a great wheel- a step in between the cheaper (but not as good) wheels and the really premium wheels for the hardcore. Give it a shot and you're unlikely to go back!

The PS3 version of F1 2011. A great game, with even better graphics than the Xbox 360 version (enabled by the better technology behind the PS3). All the drivers, tracks and new rules behind the 2011 season. This is a fantastic simulation for all of you who have watched Formula 1 and thought "Wow, I'd like to do that myself!" Strongly recommended- give it a try yourself and see what real racing feels like!

Not just Formula 1 racing on offer in rFactor, but a lot of modern and classical F1 available. This is an awesome modders game, so lots of very varied options available, from classic seasons, tracks and cars from the 80s and 90s in Formula 1, to similar classes like Indy Car and CART, as well as other things like Rally and Ferrari Challenge. Not for novices, but a great game for the tweaker amongst you. Definitely recommended.

F1 Game made by codemasters are arcade shit. rFactor is ten times better. But hey that are words from the pro who likes simulations. :P
