ReFASHION FOR ALL: LONDON ECO-CHIC HITS CATWALK

London, New York, Paris -- The official season of runway fashion has begun. Eco-chic is sure to make a fabulous splash. Even though most of us won't be sitting under the tents doesn't mean we have to miss the fun. Over the new few weeks Fabulously Green will cover some of fashion-for-all events that are worth catching if you want to see firsthand some of-the-moment, eco-friendly fashion.

REFASHIONED: FROM WASTE TO WEAR
When: Tuesday 15 February%u201A 19.00-21.00
Where: Dana Centre%u201A 165 Queen's Gate%u201A London SW7 5HD
How Much: Free

Five eco-edgy designers will spotlight their latest styles on the runway. If you're not geographically blessed to be there you will be able to catch the webcast live.

To see designer profiles, visit Fabulously Green.

STYLE WATCH: TRAID REMADE

The designers behind the British-label TRAID know how to transform last season's cast-offs into fashion-forward pieces. TRAID stands for Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development. Connecting fashion, recycling and social responsibility, TRAID raises money to fund international projects and promote recycling and waste reduction in the UK. Unwanted clothes that are donated are hand sorted or redesigned and reconstructed to make new recycled garments, and sold through our fashion forward charity shops. Their full cycle approach to style, sustainability and social responsibility make TRAID a stellar example of Fabulously Green fashion. I love the looks and the cause and lament the fact that I don't live in England!

STYLE WATCH: MILITARY CHIC

Designer: Grace + Cello

Military-inspired coats are back in style this season, and we found two jackets that capture the trend perfectly with earth-friendly benefit to boot. The re-wool jacket shown above designed by Grace & Cello uses recycled wool to create this clean-lined look. I love the versatility and the great little details. Available in three colors. Find a retailer near you. Also available online at Greenloop.

The Fab Factor: Made from 75% recycled wool and is sweatshop free. Made in Canada. Via Fabulously Green

STYLE WATCH: SLINKY SHOES

Designer: Charmone

Pretty party shoes for vegans? Oh yes. Just ask celebs like Natalie Portman who hearts Charmone. These sculptural beauties are vegan and PVC free. Who wants harmful chemicals on their tootsies? They use instead high-quality microfiber suedes, and water-based glues which tread lighter on the planet and are healthier for people.

Their shoes are crafted in Europe where they've incorporated recycled materials into their production process, and donate 5% of their profits to charities like Women for Women International, a charity that provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources they need to move from poverty and crisis to stability and self-sufficiency.

A pair of Charmone runs around $300 and up per pair.

Project Runway - The Complete Second Season

Project Runway - The Complete Second Season

More fascinating challenges that push designers to their limits: creating a new look from clothes off your back, an ice skating outfit for Sasha Cohen, a gown for Iman, day-to-evening outfit for Banana Republic and more. Everyone I've turned on to the show, man or woman, gay or straight is hopelessly hooked. You've been warned.0 points

Project Runway - The Complete First Season

Project Runway - The Complete First Season

My husband and I (both creatives) are hopelessly hooked on this show. Designers do everything from designing a Grammy gown, hip but functional uniforms for the U.S. Postal Service, a party dress from items found in the grocery store, and more. The grail: showing a collection at New York's Fashion Week. Highly addictive!0 points

His process is inspiring, and the cameos by Naomi Campbell, Sandra Bernhardt, Mark Morris, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista give you an inside scoop of what it's like to live in the fashion world.0 points
