For the longest time, I've wanted to put together a list of websites that have free information and free resources just for fun.

The internet has a plethora (love that word!) of free stuff, so much so that it's hard to remember where it all is. There are free membership sites, free giveaways, free tools, and just stuff that's fun to do and see. So let's get started!

If you've been on the net for awhile, you may be familiar with free give-away-sites. This is where an affiliate marketer puts together a site where other affiliates or marketers give away their products. Why? So that you will look at their "one-time offers" and buy from them. This also gives them name recognition and a chance for them to show you their products.

Oh, and another thing, it puts you on their list of people who they can market to. In order for you to get their free product, you have to give them your name and email address. Don't worry; they all have to follow the Can Spam (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act) law that requires anyone who sends emails give recipients an opt-out method. This law was enacted in 2003 to prevent spam emails being sent.

This is really a great site. It's one I always mention. There are 14 FREE videos that show you how to build a website. This is where I learned - I'm not an expert by any means, but I understand the basics and can put up a simple site. If you're interested in building your own site, these videos will show you exactly how. They take you step by step, from hosting, to getting a domain name, to building the site. By the time you're through, you will be able to build your own site; they are that good - amazing for a free product.

Isn't it great when you can sit at home at your computer and Shop? I love it. I love any kind of shopping, actually, but it sure is great when you don't have to time to go out or you want to research something before buying it. Anyway, if you enjoy shopping online, why not have your very own mall? It's FREE, of course! AND..every purchase will earn an instant rebate from the store where you shopped. There's also a business component where you give away free malls and make money on things those people buy. There are over 1000 stores with just about anything you can think of -things you have to buy anyway - so why not buy it at your own mall and save and/or make money?

Get Organized - Free Tool

A Place to Keep Your Stuff

Here's a great little tool that will help you stay organized. Don't you hate it when you find something you like on the net and then your computer does something wacky and you lose it? Drives me nuts.

There's a free tool called Evernote that you can keep on your desktop that lets you save notes you write; you can free-hand and make diagrams; and you can drag parts of a web page into it to keep for future reference.

Keep track of things by categories, and search by keyword or date. If you're a net junkie, this may be just what you need to keep track of things!

Template a Day

If you make your own websites or are just learning how, this is a great package. Each day you receive a free template. Once you sign up, you have access to 14 videos that show how to use the templates, including changing the text and color, altering the body of the template, optimizing for the search engines, adding articles and installing and using Wordpress. A nice package for Free! Check it out.

Music You Choose

Pick the type of music you like with Pandora

Have you heard of Pandora yet? This was a great find. You know how sometimes you want to listen to jazz, and sometimes you want to listen to country? (I have an eclectic taste in music). Pandora allows you to create different types of stations based on either the artist's name or the title of a song and then is streamed to your computer.

You pick an artist and Pandora tries to select songs that are of the same type. If you don't like a particular song, you can delete it. (Pandora apologizes and says they'll try harder - very polite!) It does a good job of matching artists in the same genre.

You can also make a station by choosing a particular song, but interestingly, you won't hear that song immediately, just music similar to it. Something to do with the artists' rights.

I love being able to choose the type of music I want to hear. And it's perfect because I don't like working in complete silence.

You just have to see what I have for you today! If you can't afford Photoshop, or even if you can, here is a great program. I'm a true novice at Photoshop, but from what I've seen, VicMan photo editing software works the same. And it's Free! What a great deal. You can find it at Vicman.net. Also available from the same company is Free photo album software. Just go to the site and start clicking. You'll find a lot of other free software as well. I love it! - Especially for someone like me who is new and just starting to learn graphics software.

I just love this software. It allows you to plan the layout of each of your home's rooms. It has all the basics, beds, couches, tables, but it also has accessories such as lamps, TVs, an entertainment center, rugs & so forth. It's just really fun if you like that kind of thing. I do, and have wasted enough time playing with it!

Internet Site Offfers Free Puzzles

Do you love word puzzles? I do! I was excited to find a site that offers all sorts of puzzles that you can download for free. If you're a puzzle junkie, like I am, 50 to 100 plus puzzles in every free puzzle magazine and 4 or more new magazines every month should keep you busy.

The site is called Punchu Puzzles. http://www.magazine.punzhu.com/

This is a great resource for teachers as the site will create free custom word search puzzles. The maximum number of words is 33, and teachers can indicate the level of difficulty - easy, medium, or hard. Punchu Puzzles will create a printable pdf file of the puzzle and email it back as soon as possible.

The site will also create custom word search puzzle games from a list of words supplied by you for playing on a Windows OS computer, or you can request a CD containing some of the thousands of word search puzzles that have already been created.

Other types of puzzles include Crosswords, sudoku, symbol sudoku, poker sudoku, alphabet sudoku, and alphanumeric sudoku. Word search puzzles are published in German, Spanish, Italian, and Arabic.

Puzzles are available for play online as well.

WARNING: There's a "for adults only" section of word games in the forum section so be sure you check it out before sending your kids to the site unsupervised.

At Worldwinner you can play games online for free. What I like about this site is you can play online without having to download anything. The only problem is that the site only works on Internet Explorer, not Firefox.

Some of the games include Scrabble Cubes and Word Mojo two of my favorites, plus there are card games, strategy and arcade games. You play against others so you are always given an idea of how well you did. And if you want to play for money, you can upgrade your account.

I love Pet Place. This is a site put together by a veterinarian who answers your questions, gives you tips on health and grooming and shares lots of adorable pet pictures and videos. I love all types of music from country to rock to oldies. I found a site recently where you can choose a specific song - different than Pandora (talked about above) in that you don't pick a genre, but the actual song. First visit www.myplaylist.com and start creatingyour own list. I created a list of 12 songs with various artists from artists that I really enjoy but don't get to listen to very often - a few that came out in the 60's. I love music and I just love this site where I can find my favorite songs to listen to any time I want. Play the song list in the background as you browse the internet.

I love this site. This awesome site will also translate for you, help you with grammar, and has lots of word games, all for FREE!

If you haven't heard of Evite yet, you'll be impressed with this free service. Planning a party, meeting, or other get-together? Use Evite to send your invitations. Pick a theme from numerous options including birthdays, anniversaries, baby and bridle showers, sporting events, etc. It's a simple process of adding date and time and any other pertinent information. Once sent, your guests can leave a yes or no answer and a comment. Other guests can see who has responded if you choose that option. Very convenient and lots of fun, plus Evite always has invitations relating to nearby holidays.

To use the service you do need to know the email addresses of those you plan to invite.
