Learn How You Can Take Care of Your Oily Skin
1. Cleansing. This is a no brainer, but sometimes with how life gets so darn busy, we forget or we're too tired, or there's not enough time. When you are looking around for face care tips for oily skin, you'll see that experts recommend cleansing your face at least two times a day (and three if you can manage it) daily with, yes, you guessed it, plain ol' soap and water. What if you are not around water when you need to give the face a swipe? Simple. Just get those little packages of pre-moistened cleansing pads and carry them in your purse or pocket.2. Keep it up. Aestheticians and dermatologists don't always agree on what is the best soap or best cleanser to use. But, it is understood that when you find one that works with your skin type, stick with it!
3. Showering.I like really hot showers. But, for those of us that have oily skin, believe it or not, steaming hot showers can strip your skin of the natural moisture content that it needs. And cold water actually can shock your skin.
4. Cleansing products. People that have oily skin often mistakenly think that using cleansing products that dry your skin will help control the oily nature of their skin. However, what it does is it OVER dries the skin and this, paradoxically, makes your your skin to produce more oil than it usually does.
5. Moisturizers and Sunblock. Use moisturizers and sunscreen products that are noncomedogenic. This means these products are oil-free and therefore, won't clog your pores.

Other Causes of Oily Skin:
- weather: hot weather and humidity
- birth control pills
- diet
- pregnancy
- hormone levels
- certain cosmetics
- certain medications
And of course... adolescence with a capital "A". With all those hormones trying to grow up and going crazy, the skin on your face can go crazy right along with it. But, as we age, our skin starts to get dryer and those crazy, upsetting days of too many pimples right before the big dance usually go away. In essence, the flow of sebum or oil increases during adolescence and starts decreasing with age.
Here are a couple of great natural ideas to help you with controlling oily skin:
1. Make a clay mask. Simply blend together 1 teaspoon of green clay powder and 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Mix it all up and apply to your face - making sure you avoid your eye area. Lie down for about 15 minutes and relax. Wash it off with warmish water. You won't believe how great your skin feels. Try to do this 3 times a week if not more. It's a great way to get off your feet and do nothing!
2. Do you take baths? Well, try this idea. A half hour before you hop in the tub, mix together 1/2 teaspoon of lime juice and 1/2 teaspoon of a juiced cucumber (you'll need to run a cucumber through a juicer for this). Then apply this mixture to your face and let it soak in. Good stuff!
3.Watching what you eat will help too. Eat A LOT of leafy greens and vegetables. And a lot of fresh fruit. The nutrients in these items help oily skin tremendously. If you are not eating enough of the greens and fruit, beef it up and add more to your diet to see some results.
