Wow! I just had to save and SquidBless this lens... I have always been creative, but drawing is not something that comes easily to me. This is a tremendous resource! The "snow face" however... that one I can do! :) Squid Hugs to You!

You inspired me to go back to drawing and painting again. This is a good lesson. Blessed.

Very informative. I really like the third picture in your 'creating volume in a face drawing. Reminds me of drawings by Giacometti.

i cannot draw so i envy everyone who is able to - somehow the line between my brain and hand is broken, so i stick to digital work :-)
  • KimGiancaterino Aug 14, 2011 @ 11:31 am | delete
Wow ... your examples are just amazing. I'm not sure I could ever do this, but appreciate the insight and clear explanations of how to try.

GREAT LENS! It's already bookmarked for me, does that express enough how much I enjoyed it? Congratulations on your work!

This is a really nice lens, excellent content and layout! I have one request though....do a lens on "how to draw hands"! I am an artist, my parents are art teachers, I love to draw but for the life of me I CANNOT draw hands that look right! Help! Haha! love your style!

Nice lens! I drew my face when I was a kid (attended drawing classes) and it sucked big time! :)
  • rgasperson Mar 29, 2011 @ 12:39 pm | delete
Fantastic faces. I love the rough look of most of them. I always tried to do the realistic stuff, but ended up getting more cartooney. I lensrolled this lens to my How to Draw eyes and How to Draw Lips lenses. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the lens. I've always liked to draw but found drawing faces difficult. The nose always ends up looking like an upside down 7. This helps a lot.
  • mysticmama Nov 23, 2010 @ 2:47 am | delete
Drawing faces is my favorite thing to do, I never realized there was so much math & stuff involved, I've always just winged it lol...guess thats why I always flunked those tech, spec & theory art classes...I always liked the classes where I could just create better than the ones where I had to study, but you presented it so well, I hardly knew I was learning...wish you had been one of my teachers lol...humans are such interesting subjects. :)

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment... I can relate very much to that. In fact in drawingoor painting workshops I always preferred to do the opposite of what the tutor says, if that was possible:).
